Seaham is a changed town from the mid 1990's since my last visit and so much for the better. The colleges had just closed and the future looked bleak. The renewed seafront and war memorials along with great restaurants and cafes make a great place to visit.

Seaham seems very run down with most of the shops shuttered up. We went in August and a lot of bars and places to eat weren't open which we found surprising. One bar wouldn't serve us at 9.45pm as they were closing. The beach is quite hard to reach down lots of steps.

Go to Seaham for fabulous beaches and sea glass hunting.

Go to Seaham for fabulous beaches and sea glass hunting. There are many more beaches to discover other than the famous ones! There are some beautiful walks along the cliff tops to some secluded beaches . The hunting down of them is part of the fun so I’m not naming them! The high street is shockingly run down with barely any shops. Seaham desperately needs time and money invested in it to make it into a place the locals can be proud of. The promenade where Tommy the soldier is has some excellent restaurants that are well worth trying.

I love coming to Seaham like thousands of others to gather bits of seaglass. Trouble was that since I was last there I have had a couple of strokes which have affected my strength a little. There was just no way I could tackle the steps or steep slopes down to the beaches so be aware of this if you have mobility issues. Nice rather old fashioned seaside town though with everything you could need, I love it.

This town is not on the tourist map but should be! We counted 5 beaches all appealing and none of them crowded. Lots of quality eating options for dinner plus great cafes. Parking in most places is free or cheap.

The property was stylish comfortable and clean. Beautifully designed with comfort in mind. Lovely log burner for cosy nights in after seeing the sights in the rain. The bed was massive and very comfy. All the towels and bedding smelled gorgeous. Easy parking outside. Great communication from Debra. Very convenient location and within walking distance for all that Seaham has to offer. We highly recommend a short drive to the Fox and Tree for delicious food - one of the best meals we have ever had. We loved our stay in Seaham !

Apartment and facilities where lovely, very clean and bright. Much bigger and more spacious than expected. Beds comfortable, even bunk beds used by adults. Location ideal for amenities, exploring Seaham or wider area. Beach, shops, and eating places close by. Host responded very quickly. All correspondence and instructions easy to follow. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Loved the little text i got before arrival just letting me know how to get access to the room and letting me know who to call if I needed to. Also free street parking Felt not much different to staying in a hotel but much smaller scale and a lot more modern feeling

It offers everything we want when visiting the local area. Good transport routes, free parking and the hotel itself is great with the pub. Staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I’d highly recommend it as a place to stay.
