It was a red hot bank holiday weekend but we were only able to stay one night. Silloth was setting up for its carnival and we enjoyed the local crafts, stalls and rides etc. It was really nice to see new businesses open and others that had been refurbished. Now in my 50’s, I have enjoyed holidays and weekends in Silloth since I was a baby, going every year, sometimes more than once. I have seen Silloth go from a bustling holiday destination in the 80’s and 90’s then becoming quite run down. It’s great to see people now flocking there and the Town improving and businesses thriving. It has a special place in my heart.

Silloth is a very picturesque pleasant town with very friendly local people. It has a lovely community garden which is very nicelly kept and well worth a walk round. There is some very interesting shops and nice cafes. There is also a good bus service covering the surrounding area. If you need a taxi l would definately recommend Christines Taxi's excellant service and lovely lady.

An interesting planned resort which is very different from anywhere else on the Cumberland coast. Historically interesting. The town is separated from the sea by a wide Green. Great sunsets over the Solway Firth facing Scotland.

Silloth is beautiful in my opinion it has everything you need. It is ideally situated as it has the best of both worlds, the sea and the countryside are both on the doorstep. We love this place so much we are planning to move here in the very near future 🤞

Silloth is a lovely small coastal village. It is easy to travel the lakes from there. There are places to eat. We ate at the Golf hotel during our stay and it was an excellent meal. The cottage we booked was excellent, very quiet, comfortable and well equipped

We asked for a bath and got one but other than that the room was grotty with a miserable view of nothing. We knew some of the rooms had been decorated and thought because it was quiet, we'd be offered a good room, no!, we were shoved in the grotty one.

The location is ideal for us, a short walk into Silloth, which is a place we like. Also places like, Keswick, Cockermouth, Workington are easy to get to from the site. The apartment had a nice new shower, and central heating, which was available to use day and night.

It was absolutely beautiful, quirky, and beautiful original features, with a modern twist, sat on the beautiful sofa situated in the bedroom drinking wine, looking out into the stunning gardens, it’s a 10 minute taxi ride into silloth, well worth it !
