Lovely pub and room, very typical. We loved the availability of the staff, they allowed us to leave the bags after our check out time so that we could easily visit around. Everything was cleaned and perfect, we even got some biscuits, water, tea and coffee stuff, which is really appreciated and not everyone provides it. Really recommended!

To be fair it isn't in Stockport. It in a beautiful rural location with fabulous views of green countryside with a charming vista of Manchester in the distance. Yes it was! In my view ! Lol. For us it was a little out of the way mainly because I'm increasingly stressed by driving but in normal circumstances it's nice and quiet. We ate in Glossop at Napolis which was fab last time we went but this time it wasn't great! Had a great ready meal from sainsbury in New Mills! Lots of good walks and paths. Binge Watched Riot women on the big screen! We don't have a TV.

Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct...

Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.

My stay in Stockport was brief as I was at a tango workshop at Bramhall and needed an overnight stay. The accommodation at Alma Lodge was comfortable and very quiet. It also had good parking facilities.

There are some good coffee shops and there is a market which is interesting. The viaduct is impressive and now is well lit at night. Christmas lights better than Ipswich. The new landscaping around the bus station is very well done with play items for children. The air raid shelter museum very interesting to visit and the Hat museum.

Room very clean and a good size.

Room very clean and a good size. The walk in shower was great ( no clambering into a bath). Staff very friendly and breakfast was help yourself which we find suits us perfectly. Only downsided was no complimentary biscuits in room and the duvet only just reached the edge of the very nice and comfy King Size bed, so it was a bit drafty at times at night.

I grew up in Stockport and support the towns football team. It's my home town. I know where to go. I love it but it ain't no tourist trap! But, its a great town with good pubs and very friendly local people and it has superb national and local transport links.

This hotel is in a lovely pedestrianised area across from Stockport station. It has a car park very close by and taxi rank right outside. The hotel has a small bar and seating area and is very light and airy atmosphere. It is beautifully clean. Our room was on the top floor which was easy to get to and the lifts have views out as you ascend/descend. The room was well laid out with a lovely bathroom and also very clean. I will definitely stay there again.

Nice comfy beds, well equipped and clean. Location is on the main road but not noisy- this was great for us as easy to reach from the station either at Stockport or Woodsmoor. It was easy to shop and get take away food. Newly fitted out - the new sofas were great. Plenty towels and good stock of basics such as washing up liquid etc Nice garden secure for children and pets. Spacious for a holiday home and suitable for families.

Quite surprised by how clean and well made up the room was. Spotless and very well maintained. Cannot fault the room. Ample tea an coffee plus a well thought out and appreciated Welcome Bag. Very professional courteous and helpful staff. I was shown to my room and given brief run down of room features. Felt very comfortable and will make the Wycliffe my first choice when looking for place to stay near Stockport.

The property was beautiful with hotel level amenities! Really clean, the second bedroom was amazing and made the stay so special for our kids. Host were responsive and helpful. Would reccomend this for anyone visiting the area. Would definitely go back!
