    Marriott Hotel, Swindon is superb - air con & pool. Great service, great breakfast & restaurant. Avoid Marsh Farm, Wootton Bassett at Swindon at all costs - noisy, busy road: leaking toilet in one room; no air-con; rooms open right onto the road.

    We were there for the Great Western Railway museum and a...

    We were there for the Great Western Railway museum and a visit to Lydiard Park and house museum. These lived up to expectations, very enjoyable. We also went to Didcot Railway Centre to see the Flying Scotsman which was wonderful and an evening of nostalgia by seeing 'The Manfreds' at Swindons Wyvern Theatre. A great few days. Brilliant Theatre where you are close to the act... not looking at ants like you do at the O2.

    Very comfortable, decent sized room in an ideal location.

    Very comfortable, decent sized room in an ideal location. We had an evening meal in the pub which was excellent. Breakfast was included in our stay and again excellent. All the staff from the housekeeping staff to the bar/reception/kitchen staff were fantastic. Thank you for a great stay. We'll be back.

    I used to live in Swindon years ago and it had some lovely places to visit. But today it is a massive sprawl, with very little to impress a traveler. It has lost just about all of it's places of interest and a sad deterioration has been ongoing for many years now. Crime has risen substantially with the change of demographic, and the once thriving town center is in decline, due to a massive program of house building on the outskirts of the main town. However, there are some very nice small villages and towns out of Swindon itself that are definitely worth a visit.

    We were visiting family, so dog walking was good in the local parks. The Town Gardens park is always so well kept and the gardens were beautiful. Always good to visit the aviary there. Lydiard Park is a good family area as well.

    was on business trip so cannot comment though excellant little pub. around such as the Rat trap, the Crown, and the Carpenters, 5 to 7 mn drive from the Brevery B&B or even walking distance except for the Carpenter Avoid the Weatherspoon ...... terrible food and not clean

    I booked Stanton House Hotel at the last minute as a stop over on my way home to Wales after a long and intense few days of work. It was just what I needed. I received such a warm welcome. The staff were so warm and friendly, the property is beautiful and the breakfast was fabulous. I decided to stay longer and enjoy the lovely grounds and walks nearby. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely be back.

    Good basic hotel, close to town centre used as a stop off on the way to Reading Festival. Room basic but that was expected from name of hotel and photos. It was clean, comfortable and had all we needed. Breakfast was more plentiful and with a wider choice than I expected.

    The hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull after we were let down at the last minute with our booking at Travelodge Chippenham. Would highly recomend this hotel to anybody visiting Swindon - they will not be disapointed

    The hotel is well located for what we went to Swindon for, a pickleball festival in the near by club called Delta. The staff were welcoming and helpful.. the room was small but very comfortable . Breakfast was excellent.
