Cheap basic accommodation for 5 min drive to airport. Advertised hotel opposite-this doesn’t serve food. Better hotel was Lamb and Lion two blocks away-lovely. Fish and chips -walk around the corner or Kebab van opposite.

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its...

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. The roads in and around are lined with cars that have been parked there by people who have gone on holiday but don't want to use the exorbitant and overcrowded parking at the airport.

We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived

We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5...

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.

Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

The bell was not working waiting long for someone to come at the door , asked if was staying for i night or 2 nights then was just put in a room without a lock was so scared the whole night I kept my eyes open

The property is located stone’s throw away from Stansted, location-wise it was a good choice because we had to catch an early morning flight from Stansted. The bus stop was located right next to the property and it took about 10 minutes to get to the airport via bus. Contacting the hotel was also easy via app and they were quick to get back with questions regarding the stay. Good value for money and there plenty of restaurants nearby to order from.

The staff here is incredibly friendly and attentive! The location is excellent, and they provide an affordable airport shuttle service. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean – I could still smell the fresh bleach when I walked in! I had one of the best sleeps I've had in a motel/hotel in a long time. Highly recommend for both short and long stays.

Second time staying here before an early morning flight at Stansted. The rooms are clean, great value for money plus the additional parking fee per day is cheap in comparison to parking at the airport. There is a bus stop pretty much outside the hotel that takes you directly to the airport too.

The location was great as we were flying from Stansted airport and wanted to stay nearby without being in a chain hotel. Spacious room with a lovely big bed. The drop-off service was convenient the next morning.
