Very welcoming town with a great range of mainly independent shops not forgetting the amazing Pannier Market! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. If you are a foody then Tavistock does not disappoint - Taylors, '76' Tavistock Inn and of course John Hookers Cornish Arms were where we went! Yes you will need deeper pockets for the Cornish Arms but you will not have a finer dining experience - absolutely sensational! We will be back soon!

A very pretty historical town, the perfect size for wandering & some lovely shops to browse & the market on the Saturday & Wednesday? We went to a lovely choral society evening in the beautiful Cathedral that just happened to be on. A lovely fudge shop too that I can highly recommend!! along with a good choice of cafes & restaurants. A good setting off point to discover the area, a visit to Yelverton & a walk on Dartmoor, a very interesting info centre taking in Sherlock Holmes & the generation of the Moors. A great outdoor shop there too! in striking distance of Polperro too. would recommend this area to every one.

Lovely market but make sure it is open when you are visiting, some shops are closed on Monday. Lots of interesting places to visit in and around the town. The moors are lovely with plenty of walking for all abilities, and if you get the chance of an ice-cream from Willy's van I would definitely recommend.

All is good in Devon and Cornwall to suit many tastes providing the weather is good, like anywhere. As the area gets very crowded at the peak holiday times, expect many delays if driving to popular spots, plus expect many very narrow roads to those areas and respect the farmers who are working with now large machinery and not on holiday or site seeing !!!!?.

We expected a cosy accommodation in city B&B (pub),....and found so much more. A great place with very attentive and friendly staff. The room was very nice and stylish and the bed super comfy. Also worth mentioning is the bathroom which was rather spacious. Twice we had dinner at the hotel (ie. at the pub) and it truly was a fantastic and delicious experience. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again should we come back to Tavistock.

Well everything And there were more ale hand pumps on the main bar that what they were when I stayed at The White Hart in Okehampton the night before and I slept better in the bed in the room plus As the White Hart didn't have a Lift in the hotel And I had to climb up to the second floor there And this hotel was cheaper to stay at too at £45 a night The White Hart was £53 a Night So The Queens Head all in all was better value

It was a delight to stay in a hotel oozing in nostalgia, ok the bathroom could do with a refresh, but apart from that everything was spotlessly clean, the staff were bright and helpful, the breakfast was just the right amount of food. SO pleased I would definitely stay there again far better than some of newer hotels I have stayed in lately. Good job Bedford hotel 👍👍

Fabulous roomy and comfortable accommodation - well equipped with everything one needs for a self catering break. Great base for exploring Devon and Cornwall in the car, but also great scenery and walking in the immediate area. So peaceful! Particularly liked the large shower and the massive comfy bed.

There seems to be so few traditional B&Bs available in the hospitality market post pandemic. Kingfisher cottage maintains the traditional standards. engaging and caring host. A good wholesome breakfast. A fixed price. No hidden costs.
