Apart from the cathedral there was not much else .
Apart from the cathedral there was not much else . We had based ourselves in Truro to visit Tresillik National Trust which in spite of being in great location was rather dissappointing having visited Lanhydrock earlier in the day which was superb. There is not huge amount to do or see in Truro.
There is not huge amount to do or see in Truro. We came for the Cathedral, where the services and music are beautiful. Anyone not used to Seagulls in the (very) early morning should bring earplugs. Truro is a good centre for travelling to all destinations in Cornwall. Bus services are good during the day, infrequent after about 6pm but we found them to run exactly as per the timetable. Good views from upstairs. Trains are usually punctual from Penzance but variable from London. Thus, if you are using public transport, this is an excellent central point. The host gave simple instructions with a useful photo near the end to ensure the final turn was made correctly, and the key system worked well. Everything inside was perfect - terrific white goods, comfy sofas and beds. Two excellent showers. Only a minute or two's drive from the edge of Truro. There is also great, safe underground parking which is invaluable in Cornwall. Mary is a wonderful, helpful and hospitable host and the room was very comfortable and very clean.
