Selfishly I am not gong to recommend it because once this jewel in the Suffolk coastal crown has been experienced and found too many people would keep coming back and ruin it for me! haha, which is to say if you want a place to get away from the 'real' world this would be the one.

Beautiful beach. Part shingle, part sand.

Beautiful beach. Part shingle, part sand. Swimming possible at all times of day. Two cosy pubs with exceptional food. Nice breakfast tearooms. Great little ferry to Southwold. Bring a bike. Beautiful marshland for nature walks. 1 hr by bike via marshes to Dunwich. Chic little village with well-kept posh houses.

Walberswick is good but only 2 hotels to eat in and both limited choice spoilt what could have been a nice stay. Would not go back for this reason. Love the Ferry to get across and back to Southwold

This was our 4th stay in the area. Previously stayed in Southwold and Walberswick. We enjoy the walking, local pubs and restaurants. The best pint of Adam’s bitter, on this visit, was at the Sole Bay Inn.

Walberswick is a quiet, upmarket, picturesque village with close proximity to Southwold. It has a Church, a small Coop, deli, 2 pubs, 2 tea rooms, a village green. It is popular with holiday makers, walkers, and for those using the small and well known ferry to Southwold (a 15 min walk on the Southwold side) across the River Blyth. It is not suitable for families as there is not much for children to do. The nearest supermarkets are about 10 miles away. Walking from the village to the river and ferry takes about 10-15 minutes and is safe as there are few cars.

All walks are lovely.

All walks are lovely. Going across to Southwold Harbour to get fish and shellfish and eat, by boat or walking up to the bridge and round is a great treat. Beach and swimming when the water is calm is wonderful. Both pubs are good. Black Dog deli is good. All are not cheap, so having somewhere reasonable to stay is key. Recommend walking to Dunwich for fish and chips. Recommend walking or car to Southwold. The old cinema is great and the Lord Nelson lovely. Crabbing etc

We chose The Lodge for its reasonable price in comparison with hotels in neighbouring Soutwold, where we attended a friend's funeral.. We thought we might "get what we paid for", but were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room, cleanliness and the kitchenette facilities. The variety of items for Continental breakfast was more than adequate. (We brought our own soya milk and spread.) The other four units were unoccupied, so we were fortunate to enjoy a very peaceful stay!

A wonderful old inn situated very close to the sea in the pretty village of Walberswick. It had lots of character and the food was excellent. The staff were welcoming and it was just what we wanted for a one-night escape to the Suffolk coast.

Fab location. In the woods and short walk to the riverside. Walberswick Town is a few minutes drive and charming. Great pub the Anchor there. Cottage is rustic and charming. Facilities limited. Lovely open wood fires.
