The Royal Oak Exmoor is a lovely B&B. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked with shampoos, body wash and creams and the shower had great water pressure. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was really helpful and welcoming. Had a fabulous time!

Everything contributed to a lovely experience and an unforgettable holiday. The family room we had was very clean and quiet. The hotel is situated in a lovely small town, with beautiful shops. However, please stay away from the Exmoor Fish And Chips place - they serve their friends, neighbours and loyal customers first, even though you're before them in the queue (we were number 74 and they had served up to number 88 before we finally asked why it was was taking them more than one hour to do 3 chips and one sausage). Our bathroom had two wash basins, which we loved. The hosts at the Lion Hotel were extremely welcoming, warm, and kind, and we felt very grateful for everything. The food at the Lion Hotel restaurant looked and tasted absolutely amazing. The service was excellent as well. We loved both the breakfast and the dinner. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, Ian and Peter. It was lovely to see a successful family-run business and be able to contribute to that. We really hope to come back.

My stay at Nutsford House near Dulverton was nothing short of delightful. Nestled within a sprawling countryside estate, the atmosphere was serene and picturesque. Accompanied by my mother, we were warmly welcomed into a charming double bed bedroom that exuded comfort and tranquility. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the warm hospitality extended by the owners. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Their furry companions, a cat and a dog, added an extra layer of coziness to the ambiance, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast served was a delicious spread of local delights, providing the perfect start to each day of our stay. From freshly baked pastries to hearty cooked meals, every bite was a treat for the taste buds. Overall, Nutsford House surpassed all expectations, offering not just accommodation but an unforgettable experience immersed in the beauty of the countryside. Spotless clean. Hosts are super nice and always available. They make you whatever you choose from a provided list for breakfast (cooked, delicious). Very attentive to details - small milk in the fridge, tea coffee and cookies, ladies' toiletries in the bathroom. I would definitely visit thus lovely inn again.

    Beautiful English village, very well kept, very peaceful. Apart from the pub there is an old church, village green, war memorial and 2 "pack horse" bridges over small stream. English village at its best.

    Everything, this was one of our best trips ever. From the moment we arrived the welcome and service were outstanding. Jane and Steve were friendly and Darren and all the staff looked after us superbly. Our room was spacious and comfortable and serviced Immaculately every day. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner every day of our 10 night stay and appreciated the friendly atmosphere in the bar and dining room. WiFi was very reliable and Winsford was an excellent base for touring Exmoor and the North Devon and Somerset coast.

    Fantastic location and the accommodation blew us away.A stunning thatched hotel,large rooms,friendly staff, and owners only to happy to assist in any way they can. Restaurant provided great food and wine,beer, cider. Can't recommend highly enough. Wonderful walks around the area.The village is very pretty, and the locals are so friendly.

    Very typical pub/hotel in the national park of Exmore National Park. I liked the atmsophare in the hotel a lot and that all rooms had their own vibe and style. It is very quiet there, parking is in the courtyard free of charge and the breakfast was a "full english" and was delicious! Would come back anytime while in the area.
