I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alkyonari by Anna in Ammouliani, Greece, and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice. The room was beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, making it not only aesthetically pleasing but also warm and inviting. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep every night. What truly made the stay exceptional was the hospitality of the hostess, Anna. She was extremely friendly, approachable, and went out of her way to make sure that I had everything I needed. Her warmth and genuine care made me feel right at home. The location of Alkyonari by Anna is absolutely perfect. It’s situated right in the center of town, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely evening stroll without needing a car. All the local restaurants and souvenir shops are within a 5-minute walk, and there’s a convenient grocery store just steps from the door. Additionally, it’s only a 5-minute drive to the nearest beach and 5-10 minutes to the port, making it incredibly easy to explore the island. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and can’t wait for the opportunity to return. If you’re looking for a charming place to stay with top-notch service and a perfect location, I highly recommend Alkyonari by Anna!

Host was amazing with following the needs of every guest separately, giving it such a welcoming feel, like you are staying at family. Rooms were super clean, never seen such clean room on Booking. The rooms are renovated, so everything is brand new and looks like we were the first guests to that room. Isolation of the room is perfect, when you close the balcony door, you don’t hear anything from the outside anymore. Position of the home is also great, as it’s not on a main road where a lot of cars passes. With Nafsika you would see why they are one of the top rated bookings and still you would be amazed with a lot of smaller things that I haven’t mentioned here.

A very boring island, with no real content.

A very boring island, with no real content. There are just a few shops and a couple of cafés, all located right where you get off the ferry. The roads for cars are partly bad, with a lot of uninhabited space. On the island, there is nothing except beaches, water, and wilderness. The most famous beach bar, which is supposed to be arranged, actually is just an improvised café. The only good thing is that there are no waves or wind, since it’s surrounded by land, meaning it’s not the open sea. You can spend a maximum of 3 days on this island, just to see all the beaches and move on. In my opinion, there’s too much artificial advertising, and there are many more beautiful places. The price-to-quality ratio is not realistic at all.

If you prefer big hotels, with buffet breakfast and mass tourism, Ammouliani is not really what you are looking for. If you like simple things, nature, amazing clear water, nice beaches, family and community feeling, coziness as in your own holiday house - that is the place to be. Very nice and welcoming hosts, relaxed atmosphere, great place for families with kids and grandparents.

A very small island – a small town – but it has everything...

A very small island – a small town – but it has everything you need (shops, a bakery, gyros, etc.) – ideal for a family vacation. It’s not for young people looking for nightlife. The number of accommodations is growing, but the number of beaches stays the same, so you can expect crowds during the peak season. I recommend renting a boat for a day to explore the entire island – it’s not expensive, and the experience is truly unique.

The only bad thing was that some beaches (p.e. in the area of Alykes) have developed more than expected and the local enterprises charge extremely much for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Better to have an umbrella set with you or buy one from a local shop than meet those unwelcome surprise prices. Despite this, the sea remains crystal and clear as it was ten years ago. The food is delicious. Short distances, easy to move around the island either by own car or by a local bus route.

Family friendly. Providing you find the right accommodation even in peak season you can feel secluded & undisturbed. It rivals many of the "exotic" destinations (in terms of beaches & crystal clear waters), yet retains a rustic charm, combined with the hospitality of the locals and their great tasty dishes and local drinks which complete the enjoyable experience. 2 years in a row and we look forward to 2025!

This is a family-owned 5 rooms hotel . Our room was very clean and with a front sea view. They clean the room every day and change the towels. The terrace is very big and you can spend hours sitting and enjoying the sea view. The hosts were wonderful. They took care of all our needs. Maria from Larisa and her husband. Maria was preparing every morning very delicious breakfast. If you go there, you will fall in love with Maria and her big heart. She will make you feel at home. Will come back for sure.

Aiora villas is quiet yet beautiful b&b that overlooks one of Ammouliani’ greatest beaches - Alykes. The staff is great and at the guest disposal whenever needed. It is also a pet-friendly place so dog lovers and pet owners would be more than satisfied with booking Aiora villas. Don’t hesitate to order a dinner (super delicious meals cooked at the property) - served at your private terrace. Will visit again in the future!

I loved the hospitality of the owners, they are wonderful, warm people who helped me have everything I needed. The location is great for going to different beaches and walking around the island. The apartment is spotless and they clean it every day. The view from the balcony is beautiful.
