Dimitra was a kind host, the place is cute, clean and pretty,it’s perfect for cosy vacation. The place is two minutes away from the beach, there’s also a bus stop nearby. In my opinion it’s def better than a hotel. 100% recommend

Sofia has a cute property in Kalyves, very easy to find and well located to visit both the village and to travel to other destinations in the island. On top of that is walking distance from the beach in Kalyves (5 min away at most, I would say less). The rooms are spot on and Sofia made sure they stood very clean throughout the visit. The rooms are very nice, and they have a balcony area to stretch out and perhaps have dinner or breakfast outside (fully recommended). Finally, Sofia is a super-host, she was very kind to us all the time but, the last day of our visit she went above and beyond the call of duty. Our daughter got sick just when it was time to leave and Sofia made sure she could leave feeling better, she even came up, after realizing that our daughter had a fever, with pediatric analgesic and careful worked out instructions to dose her correctly according to weight. I cannot stress enough that she made us feel almost like being at home. We will certainly be back here if we visit the island again.

We stayed for 8 nights and this property was ideal. Fantastic location. Kitchen had everything and more than needed, even had coffee machine and toastie maker. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

10/10 vacation. The accomodation is gorgeously located in a bay between two villages. The quiet, sandy beach is only a couple of minutes away, with crystal clear and shallow waters. There are barely any tourists, only some locals. Hidden gem, really! The view from both the patio as well as the community/pool area is picturesque! Nothing is blocking the view to the beautiful sea. The concept of the community area with self-service is really unique and lovely and you can get small snacks and refreshing drinks for reasonable prices. Last but not least, the lovely host Litsa is very open to help you with any questions and favors and has great recommendations of restaurants/taverns in the area and beyond!

We spent 7 nights in these apartments. The apartments have everything you need. Great location. Close to everything, right on the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants are also nearby. Very nice beach. We will definitely come back here again.

We liked a lot, much much better than expected. Even normal stairs to penthouse rooftop apartment, easy to go. Excellent terrace and what a view! Nice sound of sea - so good to sleep. And very easy to go to swim. Shops and restaurants near.

    Our recent stay was made extra special thanks to the incredible care and presence of the hotel management team – particularly Modesta and Jelena. From the moment we arrived, their approach stood out as genuinely guest-focused and refreshingly hands-on. Modesta kindly invited us to a management-hosted drinks and snacks event, where she spent over 30 minutes listening attentively to our suggestions for future improvements. We mentioned ideas such as offering hairdresser services for guests staying longer than a week, arranging sessions with a professional photographer to capture the stunning scenery, and introducing adult dance classes featuring local Greek styles. We also suggested expanding the beverage options to include a variety of barista-made coffees for non-alcohol drinkers—currently, if you don't drink alcohol, you’re mostly left with water or sugary sodas, which many now avoid. That level of openness and attention is rare and deeply appreciated. Jelena and Modesta also organised a beautiful à la carte dinner for us, another example of how involved and committed the management team is. This is the only hotel we’ve experienced where the management isn’t distant from guests—they are consistently visible, engaging, and genuinely interested in how everything is going. You truly feel heard and valued here. It’s a completely different and much more personal style of hospitality management. A heartfelt thank you to Spiros, Nicolas, Modesta, Michelle and the rest of the team —you’re doing a fantastic job.

    Our room at Kalyves Bay was comfortable and well equipped. Local shops, bars and restaurants are only a very short walk away (0-5 minutes). Stelios and his family were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

    Very nice and clean family run hotel.

    Very nice and clean family run hotel. Excellent little café in front (hotel guests get a 15% discount). We had our dog with us, and we greatly appreciated a pet-friendly apartment that was very well maintained. The atmosphere is simple, comfortable, and pleasant. Excellent for meeting our expectations.

    We really enjoyed the kids' club activities.

    We really enjoyed the kids' club activities. The evening entertainment was also very good. Additionally, I felt that the food choices, especially for lunch and dinner, were excellent and catered to different tastes. I was disappointed to find that the air conditioning did not work in several rooms, and the staff were fully aware of this issue. We had to change our room but ultimately had to settle for a normal fan. This hotel is rated as a 5-star hotel, but I feel it does not meet that standard. Additionally, the restaurant area was problematic. The fridge with ice cream was very dirty, as were the pots with granola. Despite having issues with the air conditioning and cleanliness in the restaurant area, we enjoyed our stay at Kiani Beach Resort. The pools are excellent, and the proximity to the beach is amazing. However, I believe this hotel should be awarded only a 3 to 4-star rating.

    We stayed here for 10 days with one other family .

    We stayed here for 10 days with one other family . It was amazing !! We are had our own rooms with own bathrooms . We had clean and safe space . The host was great and got back to us with any questions we had . All appliances worked great . Restaurants near by were great to walk to .

    Perfect Cretan working village by the sea.Great beaches.Plenty good tevernas,kanefeons and bars with very reasonable prices.Supermarket,mini markets and shops Local butchers,bakers,fruit and veg shops with fresh local produce.Good base fortrips to other places including archeological and historical sites.Car hire and ATMs in abundance.It's about 30 - 40 minutes depending on your mode of transport from Chania airport and about 25 minutes from Souda ferry terminal.Highly recommended.

    The hotel was very beautiful and very well kept, the pictures didn't do justice. The bathroom was small and a little dated, but very clean and everything worked very well. We absolutely recommend this if Kalyves is the destination. We had a beautiful sea view! The owner was very helpful and really cared about her customers. Kitchenette was well equipped for two. Very short walk from the beach and restaurants.

    It's a wonderful villa with the best views. We could sit for hours watching the sea, sky, and mountains. Great location with easy access to a supermarket, restaurants and the beach. Short drive to Chania. Pool is great. Any questions we had were answered quickly and politely by our host and the couple of small problems we had were sorted the same day at our convenience. Would love to return!

    A lovely hotel right on the beach front , perfect location for a perfect relaxing week , all staff lovely. Food was good but felt like nothing went with anything to make a meal for example on the kids section one night there was plain pasta , Brussels and pizza . It just needs to be a little more thought out.

    Kalyves bay was wonderfull! The location perfect, quiet street, near a beautiful beach, nice cafe, tavernas and a supermarket - everything you need. My room had a lovely view over the sea and there was a great rooftop terrace as well. Will definetly come back when in Crete next time!
