All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Kato Daratso is a lovely beach location a couple of kilometers outside Chania centre which you can walk into along the beach in 15/20 minutes or take the bus which stops every 15 minutes at the top of the road and takes you in in 5 minutes for €1.20. The Theodosi restaurant is highly recommended. There are a number of supermarkets and pharmacies in the area. Vivid village with plenty of of restaurants and shops, even Lidl. There is car rental and also travel agency as well, in case you want a book an excursion. The beach is super sandy and there is surf/SUP rental. Alexandros, the owner, is incredibly kind and attentive – I asked for wine and flowers to surprise my girlfriend in the room, and everything was arranged perfectly. The breakfast was delicious, the pool is stunning, and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The hotel also offers plenty of activities like yoga – we personally joined a guided meditation session, which was absolutely perfect.
