This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It was suggested by a friend who knows the incredible owner, a famous film director. Although it just opened, I had a difficult time finding a room, so book in advance. It's situated within walking distance from the charming traditional village of Plaka, and the views and sunsets from the room are breathtaking. We stayed in the smaller house, but I also saw the mesmerizing master suite with a jacuzzi and Roche Bobois sofas. The accommodations are perfect—spacious, high-ceilinged, with comfortable beds and full Molton Brown amenities. The house felt like it was straight out of a House and Garden article, featuring handmade ceramics, textiles, and designed furniture, all reflecting the simplicity of the Aegean Sea. The owner greeted us personally, was attentive, and treated us like guests in her own home. We had a drink on the terrace while she shared stories about her fascinating life as a former dean of a film school and an accomplished filmmaker. Very unique, fun, and comfortable! It's actually a windmill converted into a cozy and comfortable place to stay. The hosts shared homemade cakes with us as well:) I would strongly recommend for anyone who is looking for this sort of experience.

The place was absolutely amazing. The rooms were beautiful and the pool was big. Maria was helping us out with planning our days and put us in contact with a private boat rental company and recommended great resturants. The breakfast was amazing and the items you could order to the room were great e.g ice cream or a bottle of wine. We loved it. It was also very quiet and private. Great access to the main parts of the island.

    Nice to be in a location with some restaurants/bar, lots of shops, incredible views and lots of friendly cats! Safe area and free public parking lot a 10-15 min walk from most places in the Plaka. Overall seems much less crowded and crazy than Adamas Port area. Some small museums in the town. As Plaka is higher up on the island, be prepared for walking inclines/declines and some stairs depending on your route. Limited car parking up close to restaurants and some of the rental accommodations, so something to consider if you have difficulty with mobility. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this area again.

    Excellent location in Placka.

    Excellent location in Placka. The host Stelios really care about the clients and he is used to provide very useful information about restaurants and beaches in Milos and other islands. The studio was amazing with an excellent view. I suggest all future visitors of Milos to stay in the old village of Placka and book a room at Halara Studios.

    Magnificent view from the terrace of the countryside below...

    Magnificent view from the terrace of the countryside below Plaka, parts of the Milos bay and the windmills of Trypiti. On foot you can reach the old core with its beautiful Cycladic architecture in a few minutes or the ancient theater in half an hour. Don't miss the sunset from the Kastro! Our host Dimitris was incredibly helpful, in case of technical problems (Wi-Fi) immediately on the spot and had many good tips for restaurants, beaches and other destinations. On request, our apartment would have been cleaned even daily, which we did not find necessary.

    Plaka is a small village but definitely the best place to...

    Plaka is a small village but definitely the best place to stay on Milos due to the village being quite lively at night. I recommend a car for the island anyways so you might as well stay in that village and get a great view. The village is also central enough to the main attractions that if you want to hike directly from there to the port city or the beaches (Plathiena) or fish village (Klima) you will have a nice good hike. The prices are more expensive there so go eat elsewhere. The Utopian Café is worth it, though you can see the beautiful sunset from so many places. Do not go to the only café/bakery near the center - it's overpriced. Go to Adamantas - the port town - better prices for better quality.

    This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly.

    This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly. There are restaurants nearby.some a bit pretentious. We used a local taxi to take us around and to leave on the ferry Incoming was difficult as l ferry was two hours late. Nothing at ferry terminal. Best to walk to entry to port where there are more. No nearby local shops. Excellent archaeology including the spot where Venus de Milo was found.

    Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in.

    Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in. At night they block off car traffic and so pedestrians can walk freely from restaurants to shops to bars, etc. So cozy and lots of dining options. Central to the whole island.

    We had such a wonderful night in Plaka in this lovely cosy and super clean appartment. The owners are super welcoming and provided great recommandations. The location at the end of a very typical Greek alley makes you feel like you are discovering an hidden gem. It's very close to Plaka center but in a very quiet and more authentic part of the city. The room is super clean, and the shower is the best we had in Greece. Of course the balcony is just 5star, especially for the sunrise.

    Everything.The quality of the accommodation was incredible.(bathroom was beautiful).The family were most welcoming throughout our stay. There was a welcome pack of water,fruit and homemade biscuits in our room.We availed of the breakfast one day which was wonderful.Mrs Chaido and her family were such lovely hosts.Their communication from time of booking was great and Lefteris picked us up from the Seajet ferry port when we arrived in the evening.We will be back for 😊.

    The hotel boasts a unique view. From the terrace you can enjoy the marvellous view of the sea and the nearby islands. Unbeatable. The owners of the hotel also run a small bar, so it's never been easier to enjoy a delicious drink at sunset. Some tourists come to this bar especially for the sunset. However, the bar is not loud or disturbing at all. The hosts are easy to contact and always respond quickly. The rooms are very large and spacious.

    A very cute family run hotel with very friendly staff who are always happy to help. We ran into an issue trying to rent an ATV and they were so helpful and kind. Location is perfect, short walk to Plaka. However, I do recommend renting an ATV to get around to beaches as we tried to walk to Fyropotamos beach and it was not for the weak!! Overall, a lovely pleasant stay with superb breakfast!
