Beautiful and lively, lots of restaurants and gorgeous boats. We took the car so we could visit the island, well worth it. Monastery Beach was delightful until mid afternoon when it got crowded. We had choice to go to one of three closest islands near Athens. Aegina is big and the closest to Athens so quite crowded on weekends where Athenians escape from the heat. Hydra is quite beautiful but a bit expensive, no sandy beaches near center and no transport on island except of horses and donkeys (it is charming, though, worth to visit for one day). So the last choice was Poros, with moderate prices, nice beaches, even free municipal bus, and 5 minutes boat ride to the mainland village of Galatas, which also has great restaurants to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine.Guest review byKA111ERGeorgia - 10.0

Beautiful easy going and laid back island, the atmosphere in town is magical (especially sunsets) and the natural beaches are amazing. The room is very clean and that is something we struggle to feel most places. After rearanging the desk into a table it felt homey and was what you expect for the price. We drove the entire island and turns out directly across the street is the nicest beach lounge of anywhere with the absolute best food (go for the Greek Salad and lentil with tuna dish).
