    The old town of Rhodes is stunning.

    The old town of Rhodes is stunning. It is an authentic old town full of stone buildings and little alleyways. Although there are many tourist shops they have not destroyed the integrity of the place by modernising. The Grand Masters Palace is impressive and a visit there is certainly worthwhile. The Roman floor mosaics are beautiful. The history museum within the palace was very good. We loved walking on the city wall from where you can see across the city and port. The archeological museum, in the hospital, was excellent. There are so many cafes and restaurants throughout the town. We ate at Yiannis which was family run, with great food at reasonable prices. There are many car rental places for a day out of the city. We got a cheap and excellent car at Butterfly Rentals, then drove to visit the Lindos Acropolis and the 6thC BC Kameiros ruins.

    Wonderful old town , atmospheric and magical in only the way...

    Wonderful old town , atmospheric and magical in only the way such an ancient historical place can be. There was the popular touristy seafront and bars and clubs, but also the narrow back streets and alleyways with their small cafes and family restaurants and little shops of every kind pandering to our passing trade. Lively and colourful with people everywhere enjoying themselves. The restaurants and cafes had broad menus, international and local, to suit all tastes. Costs were reasonable if one took the time to choose carefully.

    Our seventh trip to Rhodes Town over thirty years.

    Our seventh trip to Rhodes Town over thirty years. With each visit, the crowds have been worse. Enormous cruise ships are the root of the problem. The hotels and bars on the beach side of the new town are still as ghastly as ever, and there are more of them. The new town's most interesting features are the Turkish cemetery, the Ottoman bazaar and the fascist architecture from the Italian era (1912-43). But Rhodes Town is really about the old town, which is inimitable.

    Lots of historical sites to visit in the old town.

    Lots of historical sites to visit in the old town. Lots of great shops to pick up a gift. Great place to pick up a day cruise to explore other islands or around the coastline. Suitable for all levels of walking. Although some areas are cobblestones.

    Old Town was very picturesque but busy when cruise ships were in port and a lot of shopkeeper/restaurant and bar staff were very pushy. You have to have your wits about you. We only went out nice. We found a part of the beach with all the trendy beach bars. We paid €40 for two very comfy sunbeds for the whole day and that included beach towels as week. The food there was good but it’s very overpriced. We liked the new town at night but all of the bustling streets lit up with bars and restaurants. Although, again, beware we were really cross in one bar we were told it was happy hour and they still charged us €20 for 2 vodkas in plastic glasses! Found a great Vietnamese restaurant called The Golden Buddha in the new town. Can highly recommend.

    We were in Rhodes for two weeks, we were a group of 9 and...

    We were in Rhodes for two weeks, we were a group of 9 and everyone loved staying there. We toured the island, spent time in Old Town, which was amazing and in Lindos…and the Acropolis was amazing…so beautiful. As well we toured through small towns, and did a day trip to Symi and a day trip to Marmarais, loved them both but Symi was outstanding. We shopped til we dropped, dined out all around Old Town and Rhodes, enjoyed the beaches, had a fabulous night at Rhonda…with Abba music and more. We enjoyed dinners at many restaurants. Rhodes was an excellent choice for our trip!

    Just off the centre, so very quiet and relaxed, but a stone's throw from the main streets, this apartment is in the perfect location in the old town. It is spacious with two very comfortable double beds, well appointed ktichen and spacious bathroom with washing machine. But the best thing about it is the beautiful garden. In the apartment we were in, we had a lovely little terrace at the top of the stairs, but there are also places to sit in the garden. All in all a gorgeous place to stay.

    The location is excellent, situated in the heart of the Old Town looking up to the Palace. Konstantinos was so warm and welcoming and ensured that our stay was the best possible, helping us with taxis and restaurants tips! He made us feel right at home and kept our fridge top up with essential liquid refreshments ! Every day we were treated to a five star Greek breakfast which was individually prepared for each guest. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

    Our stay in Rhodes was incredibly special and made even more so by staying at Zacosta! Amazing place and made to feel extremely welcome from John and Nikos. They went above and beyond for us. Hotel holds so much charm and elegance and extremely clean. Breakfast on the terrace each morning set us up for a another great day on the island.     This was the most beautiful Boutique Hotel right in the middle of a very busy Rhodes town but it’s location is quiet. Absolutely spotless - swimming pool fantastic - as for the staff they must all receive gold awards for their exceptional attention to the well being of their guests especially Lucy.

    The location is really good, close to the port, beach, walled old town, airport bus stop, cafes, supermarkets. Breakfast had good choices. I had just the standard room but liked that it had a balcony. I found Rhodes Town quite interesting and would consider coming back again to this hotel.
