Great place. Comfortable, clean, well-equipped, and lots of hot water. Kitchen met our needs and the supplies in the refrigerator were more than welcome. A bit far from the town "centre" with a steep climb to get from there to the apartment. We had a car so no problem Katarina was a friendly host who spent time chating to us about the area. We will definitely return

The host was lovely, the property had everything it was listed as having including a sofa bed and washing machine. There was a convenient parking space available and it was walking distance from a grocery store and the main town. The bedside lamps were also adorable, loved them! The apartment was also very spacious with a nice balcony view. The price was very good too.

Very good stay at Calypso apartments. The view was simply amazing. I loved to wake up and stay on the balcony to admire Vathy and also the stunning Ithaka. The room was modern, very, very clean. A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. There is plenty of shade underneath the olive trees.

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town.

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats. Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. I found it a bit restricted as a starting point for a solo traveller, as there are no buses, and the tours of historical/mythical sites are private and very expensive for one or two people.

We really loved our trip to Ithaca. Such a pretty Island.

We really loved our trip to Ithaca. Such a pretty Island. Only tiny but you need a car to visit everywhere. Kioni was really beautiful with nice restaurants. More to chose from in Vathi and if you like walking you can walk to two beaches from there .

Gorgeous little town, with just incredible views. We were there in October, ans despite two days of dull, slightly rainy weather, we found it very charming. Lots of little shops to explore - though some were very expensive, to be honest. We had some great food here - the small restaurant on the seafront, La Familia - was our highlight. Really delicious traditional food. So good I'm going to have to try some of the recipes at home. The boat tours had finished for the winter, but it was still possible to hire a boat, or even a boat with a skipper. Vathi is easy to walk around, it's small and compact, and feels very friendly. I can't say that it would be wheelchair friendly, as a lot of the footpaths have cafe tables and chairs etc.

Vathy is a lovely town.

Vathy is a lovely town. Very large yachting contingent so a little bit more expensive than other places but not by much. Some amazing restaurants - Mills, Soddis and Batis were all favourites along the waterfront.

The hotel was perfect - from the location to all of the facilities. The staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough to accommodate requests and put everyone at ease. There were so many 'little' extras that the hotel did (that other hotels don't do) that meant a great deal - from free bottles of water to a free glass of wine upon arrival to complimentary ice-lollies each day. Breakfast was also excellent. Special mention to Antonio and Katerina (I may have spelt their names incorrectly) who were perfect hosts.

Great location with a beautiful view of Vathi harbour from the terrace at the front of the property which is bathed in morning sunshine. The pool, terrace and garden at the rear of the property gives privacy and is bathed in afternoon sunshine. As a couple we would eat at the numerous harbour restaurants but should you wish to cook the kitchen is well appointed.

The hotel was great and Eirena at the reception was super helpful! Explained everything about the island, found us a boat and even sent us suggestions for restaurants and beaches and excursions. The bed was very comfortable the room very spacious and clean and the view from our balcony simply AMAZING 🤩

Our hosts were so welcoming. Room was clean and spacious, with all the facilities you could need. Breakfast was wonderful. Short walk into the heart of Vathi with coffee shops and restaurants. Supermarket just metres down the road for supplies.
