We loved that we had a complete, unobstructed sea view and that the hotel was quiet / right on the ocean. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms modern and clean, and we even had AirCon in our room (which I was worried about b/c I was pregnant when we stayed there and comfort was really important to us). We also loved the breakfast buffet. They had great options and an outdoor terrace, with made-to-order omelets. We would absolutely recommend that anyone stay here. We loved the spa / sauna. The indoor pool was really lovely on the days that it was too chilly to be by the water. The rocky beach access felt safe and clean. And there were multiple other outdoor pools to choose from.

Very beautiful hotel with a lot of options. Lots of pools to choose from and restaurants too. We loved the direct access to the sea. They went above and beyond to make us feel so special on our honeymoon. Delicious breakfast, lots to choose. Probably the comfiest bed ever. Would love to return again.

To start off with, the view is breathtaking. The property is facing the Adratic. Stunning views. It is a bit far from Old town. But there is a bus service (number 4) that starts from the hotel and ends at Pile gate at Old town entrance which is only 10 mins ride. So it never felt far. While booking we got an automatic upgrade to Junior suite which was a nice gesture. Property is modern with excellent lobby and a lounge area. One of the best client services I have experienced in europe. Very hospitable. We had requested for a late checkout since our next travel was in the night. They complied and gave us the same room with no additional cost. We were very impressed by that gesture. A special thanks to Ines for this. Special mention to Dubravka who was very helpful in providing tips about the town. Breakfast had a good spread. Again view from the restaurant is spectacular. We were particularly impressed with Loreta from the Breakfast restaurant. She ensured all our requests were looked into. Alwats with a amile on her face. Thank you. We had the buffet one night. It is a good treat for those eating meat and fish. We are vegetarian so the options are limited. Hoping to have more options on the veg front. Having said that, we requested the chef to make pasta (arabiatta) . He was more than happy to comply. Personally came to deliver it on our table and then came back later to check how did we find it. Unfortunately, could not get his name. But thank you 😊. Overall very good experience. Will return for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at Teranino Apartment.

We had a wonderful stay at Teranino Apartment. Our hosts were exceptional, very kind and generous. They did everything to make our stay so enjoyable including many lovely touches,e.g.delicious cold beer in the fridge on arrival, some locally grown goodies and even doing our washing,(returned beautifully ironed), half way through the holiday. They gave us great tips for authentic restaurants and the best trips to try. We really enjoyed visiting the local Lapad beach for swimming and snorkelling.

We stayed in the Old Tow , so really only explored that area. Amazing place to visit with lots of places to see and do. Lots of boat trips to the islands available, which are well worth doing. The restaurant at bottom of the main steps called Koloseum is very friendly with good food and a nice atmosphere

Dubrovnik was a super cool city to visit.

Dubrovnik was a super cool city to visit. Our friends had their wedding at the Museum of Modern Art and it was simply gorgeous. The old city is an amazing place to visit and see. The narrow streets and stairs are crazy but make for an unforgettable trip. Also, the people were super nice and friendly and we never felt unsafe.

    Beautiful city, friendly wonderful people.

Beautiful city, friendly wonderful people. I felt safe and there was lots of history and unique architecture. I stayed in old town and enjoyed food at Mama Mia and Amazing Indian. I would recommend getting the dubrovnik pass to use for the wall walk and visiting museums. I highly recommend the game of thrones tour with Luca. If you have the money I would recommend staying at guest house forty four and if you have lots of money stay at Villa dubrovnik.

    Beautiful city, but too crowded.

Beautiful city, but too crowded. Cruise ship groups and Game of Thrones tours obstruct the narrow streets, but worth persevering. Seemed expensive prices 10-30% up on what we found in Split on same trip. Cable car over priced at 30 euros. Wall similarly but is in pass and may be worth it if there long enough and want to use other locations covered by the pass. We saw much of the city, some hidden away by not going on the walls. Boat trip to Cavtat worthwhile to escape the hoards of people. If touring suggest you come here first and then move on and enjoy the islands and Split afterwards. Probably worth staying on outskirts and getting bus in as no car access to much of the city near the old town.

Beautiful place - shame about the tourists!

Beautiful place - shame about the tourists! Having enjoyed many a walled medieval town in several countries - wouldn’t go back to this one. Big disappointment. City authorities need to act soon to limit numbers, before they allow this jewel in their crown to be ruined. It’s completely overrun by the clamouring hordes of tourists & walking groups, offloaded incessantly each day from cruise ships & coaches. To cater for them, the Old Town seems to have lost whatever charm & authenticity it had. We found only 1 real bar in the place (run by an octogenarian) & very few shops selling anything other than the same old tourist tatt. The town is so full, it’s hard to find any of the quiet & tranquil, tucked-away spots that such places normally still have. That said - some of the restaurants, cafes & takeaways are very good & in spite of the hordes, the locals still amazingly friendly.

We absolutely loved our time at Valamar Tirena Hotel! The room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding – so many fresh and tasty options. The location is great: peaceful, yet just a short bus ride from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommended!
