A very beautiful place to relax. This hotel would be ideal for couples or a romantic getaway if it were adults-only, but when families with children arrive, some noise is unavoidable. The room was nice, small, but with a wonderful ocean view. The doors often make noise due to the wind. The pool is amazing. I liked the food at the restaurant, but it's the only dining option in the hotel. It's quiet and peaceful, but there's not much to do within walking distance, so all entertainment is limited to the hotel itself, which doesn't offer anything special. There's only a small gym, and that’s about it.

Beautiful accommodation straight on the beach. Amazing garden and lovely restaurant. Very kind staff, our son was unwell the last day and we were allowed to check out later. We could check in early too, obviously that is subject to the availability. Everything was perfect, we enjoyed it very much

A small, cozy hotel with a beautiful pool, where it’s lovely to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings while admiring the ocean view. The staff is exceptionally friendly and kind — they made a great effort to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. Special compliments to the restaurant baristas — every morning they made us wonderful cappuccinos and lattes.

I was met upon my arrival by the hotel manager Putu who gave me my welcome drink and showed me to my bungalow explaining how everything worked and asked if I had any questions, well done. The next morning she once again asked if I had any concerns with my accommodation, which I didn’t. The breakfast was exactly as I requested, which to me meant that the staff listened and passed on my request to the chef, if the staff didn’t understand they would ask for clarification and make sure they got it correct 👍. My accommodation (bungalow 5) was spotless and everything in it was in excellent condition, the bed was very comfortable and I actually had good sleep, as I said everything was great right down to the quality toilet paper used by the resort. The restaurant was good value and very good quality food, also very clean and well maintained. All the staff were happy and always said hello to me as I was moving around the resort, from the gardener right up, loved the interaction. The grounds and pool, very well maintained, including the fish ponds around the bungalows. I will be back, and recommending this resort to anyone who asks. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable and relaxed knowing that if I had any questions or problems Putu and her staff would do everything possible to help. Well done

Normally, It’s a lot quieter than most other towns in Bali. Unfortunately there are major workings to fortify the beach fronts presently. Beach closures are taking place, which apparently may take a further 12 to 24 months to complete.

I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

Candidasa is one of those true gems for those looking for...

Candidasa is one of those true gems for those looking for something a little bit more Bali than Kuta and Legian. No high rise resorts, peacefull and an ideal way to add a little chillout and relax vibe to their stay. I spent 5 days in Kuta at Hotel Lusa which is a great hotel close to the beach then 3 night in Candidasa now back in Legian for 5 nights. One thing i will mention is that there aren't many white sand beaches in Candidasa. But it's a beautiful location and i'd recomend it to any traveller.

This was our 4th trip to the area (over the last 20 years).

This was our 4th trip to the area (over the last 20 years). We enjoy walks to some of the nearby villages, eating at a number of the local Warungs (local family-run eateries). As in some areas of Bali, there are uneven and often broken footpaths. As a 70+ year old with occasional mobility issues, I had to be very vigilant as to where I was walking, more so whilst outside the Resort. During our stay (July 2025) there was also major roadworks, which slowed the local traffic down even more. This is only a temporary challenge, once completed life for the local people and tourists alike will be easier, I'm sure :-))

There's not a lot to do and you need to go by taxi to get to most places. Some restaurants will send a taxi to collect and return you to your accommodation and that's free. The shopping is limited, but good massage places. You can't walk along beach much and access to some beaches is complicated It is not overcrowded and hectic like most other places in Bali so if you want a less hectic break it's the place - choose good accommodation where you will be happy to stay in a lot and you'll really enjoy the peace!

I'm afraid Candidasa has declined since I was there last, many restaurants and hotels have closed and the whole place could do with a refreshing, some places are really nice and if you're content to stay put and relax in the resort it would be very charming place to be, but for the more adventurous types, there's not really much to do. All the businesses and sellers were complaining of the lack of customers, and the very busy road through the middle of town can be dangerous and frightening most of the time.

I loved the location of the accommodation, it was right in the center of Candidasa and close to the beach. The room was huge, which was very much appreciated, with Balinese-style decor that gave it an authentic touch. The bed was comfortable and there was a small porch outside. The staff was very friendly and helped me with everything, they even helped me rent a motorbike and find a driver.

The villa 23 we stayed in and it was amazing. Like all Bali kitchens the sink area seems always a bit old and tired but so cheap to eat out I don’t think it matters. The staff were incredible and a driver in particular was so helpful, called Indra … nothing was too much trouble and all reasonable prices. Highly recommend not much to do in candidasa but for us it was a nice change

Very nice hotel, friendly villas equipped with everything you need. Nice pool in the middle of the facility, cosy restaurant, a bit small sometimes. The larger villa was less nice, I would not pay more to book it again, the smeller villas are much better placed and structured. The restaurant is really good, we ate the only decent pizza in Bali here.
