In villa big room, cozy bathroom and big terrace where stuff every morning brought fresh coffee and decorating with flowers. Stuff really helpful and polite. I absolutely loved the serenity of Ganesh Beach. The whole environment was green, there were flowers and offerings and whatnot. Everywhere I looked I could find something beautiful to look at. The rooms are decorated with much attention to detail which made me so happy to be there. There were windows on two sides so a lot of light came into the room, which is always important to me. It is clear they care about the environment and they encourage their guests to help them be more sustainable by letting you decide when the bed needs changing. Each day, they make sure to remove plastic from the beach. They have their own tiny foodforest for coconuts and fruits. During my stay they planted passion fruit and I am very curious to see it next year! The staff is very nice. They treat eachother like family and it is clear they enjoy their jobs. It’s a nice mix between experienced staff, and people in training. The food was very good and I especially loved having breakfast in the mornings at their beach restaurant. For my next stay I’ll sure stay longer. :-)

Great hotel and just a hair away from perfect. You can't go down to the ocean, even though the hotel is on the beach. The other important element to improve is more local spicy food! Apart from that, everything is perfect. Room, bed, WIFI, staff, garden, pool, good breakfast, reasonable prices in the restaurant. Good location, nearby restaurants and local food. Highly recommended.

A great location on the main road in Candidasa, but very quiet. We were in one of the villas at the back. Lovely spacious room with a koi carp pond out the front. The staff were amazing and so friendly. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The swimming pool was lovely, very quiet but we did stay out of season. Easy access from here to many attractions.

Normally, It’s a lot quieter than most other towns in Bali. Unfortunately there are major workings to fortify the beach fronts presently. Beach closures are taking place, which apparently may take a further 12 to 24 months to complete.

I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

Candidasa is one of those true gems for those looking for something a little bit more Bali than Kuta and Legian. No high rise resorts, peacefull and an ideal way to add a little chillout and relax vibe to their stay. I spent 5 days in Kuta at Hotel Lusa which is a great hotel close to the beach then 3 night in Candidasa now back in Legian for 5 nights. One thing i will mention is that there aren't many white sand beaches in Candidasa. But it's a beautiful location and i'd recomend it to any traveller.

This was our 4th trip to the area (over the last 20 years).

This was our 4th trip to the area (over the last 20 years). We enjoy walks to some of the nearby villages, eating at a number of the local Warungs (local family-run eateries). As in some areas of Bali, there are uneven and often broken footpaths. As a 70+ year old with occasional mobility issues, I had to be very vigilant as to where I was walking, more so whilst outside the Resort. During our stay (July 2025) there was also major roadworks, which slowed the local traffic down even more. This is only a temporary challenge, once completed life for the local people and tourists alike will be easier, I'm sure :-))

There's not a lot to do and you need to go by taxi to get to most places. Some restaurants will send a taxi to collect and return you to your accommodation and that's free. The shopping is limited, but good massage places. You can't walk along beach much and access to some beaches is complicated It is not overcrowded and hectic like most other places in Bali so if you want a less hectic break it's the place - choose good accommodation where you will be happy to stay in a lot and you'll really enjoy the peace!

I'm afraid Candidasa has declined since I was there last, many restaurants and hotels have closed and the whole place could do with a refreshing, some places are really nice and if you're content to stay put and relax in the resort it would be very charming place to be, but for the more adventurous types, there's not really much to do. All the businesses and sellers were complaining of the lack of customers, and the very busy road through the middle of town can be dangerous and frightening most of the time.

The whole hotel/lodge area lies beautifully on the ocean with one (of two) pool(s) enabling the perfect ocean view. The staff is very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. It is easy to order anything at the bar during the day or enjoy a delicious meal in the adjoining restaurant in the evening. I have mad wonderful contacts and was provided with great tips of what to do/see in east Bali.

We really liked the whole setting of Bali Santi Bungalows, they strike a good balance of intimacy with the feeling of community. You really have your own space even though you are in a hotel. The pool is great, the staff was friendly and the surroundings were quiet. Close to nice restaurants as well. Le Zat and Warung Bintang were especially nice.
