Hidden gem in Maumere; the bungalows are facing the sea, food is great. Claudia, the host, is very helpful and friendly; she’ll take you diving/snorkeling instructor great spots. And you can enjoy amazing sunsets from the property. I definitely recommend spending as much time as you can at Happy dive retreat!

The most amazing thing here was the beautiful coral reef just off the beach.The beach was shady and safe for children.Every day there was a lovely cool breeze from the sea. The cottages are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses and mosquito nets, although there were not many mosquitoes and right on the beach. The food can only be described as fabulous. Fresh fish every day if you want from the fishermen out the front.Aldi and Santi deliver beautifully decorated and tasty food.

Bungalow was clean with beautiful ocean view. Atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful, great place to rest. There is free drinking water in the room. Its possible to borrow snorkeling gear and do the snorkeling right in front of the bungalow.

We loved it so much, we stayed on. It’s so relaxing and peaceful. We also appreciate that they make the effort to be sustainable. A water jug is provided in your bungalow, to be refilled from the water station. They use refillable shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom. We kept our towels and bedsheets for our stay, but they did do our personal laundry once for us. They provide mosquito coils and a mosquito net in the bungalow and there is air conditioning and a ceiling fan as well.

We had a house all to ourselves + the garden. It was a beautiful Balinese styled house, with gorgeous wooden furniture. The bed was really comfortable. Unlike many other mosquite nets, this one made the bed feel more cozy rather than claustrophobic. Breakfast is also amazing and you can have coffee or tea at your discretion. It was really, really great and we would stay here anytime.

If you come to Maumere, this is THE place to stay. It's just paradise... really peaceful place, beautiful, incredible sunset! The accommodation is perfect, clean, nice and comfortable. All the workers are really nice and they will help you with everything you need. Just have to relax and enjoy this little piece of paradise!
