Teach Hudí Beag is a fantastic pub, with excellent staff, the most wonderful traditional music sessions on Friday nights and (I think) Monday nights, and Irish the spoken language throughout. Caife Chití just opposite is the perfect place for breakfasts, salads, lunches. And the tours in nearly Croithlí distillery are both entertaining and informative --- the whiskey tastings are great too!!!!

Although only there for a short while Bunbeg has all the ingredients of the mystic west. The sunset was spectacular over the beach. Bád Eddie (Eddies boat) on Bunbeg's Magheraclogher beach, in Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore) is a must see. The official story is that the boat was stranded on the beach but we heard from a good source that Eddie did it deliberately. He beached the boat in order to fit a new engine but he was going through a divorce and his wife asked for her share of the boat so he never repaired it.

The location, with views across to the islands, is lovely. We were fortunate to get a room on that side of the hotel. It is easy to find and seems to be the local watering hole for the district. Very convenient to just pop downstairs for dinner and a drink. The pub has live music every night, which is both a plus and a potential downside. We were there on a Thursday night and the music wasn’t very loud so it was no problem for us.

The house was modern, clean and had every appliance that you would need. Everything was high quality. We went for a family trip to mark a milestone birthday 🎂 🥳 , Martina went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend this place.
