We were very fortunate to secure this booking and found the facilities to be first class and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect for our needs and was quiet, secure and handy to the start of the Wild Atlantic Way. Good on-site parking. The breakfast and other small touches were very much appreciated. The staff were outstanding from the minute we checked in we felt so welcomed.one couple in our group had a 6 month baby with them not only was a cot available for their use but also a mini fridge to keep feeding bottles fresh.there was also a baby bath available

Excellent lodge. We were given a lovely, cozy and spacious room with three windows overlooking the main street (but quiet and silent). At our arrival we found some delicious sweets in the room, jointly with a keetle and spring water. Everything was very clean. There was free parking for guests (otherwise there are metters in the streets). Breakfast was a la carte in nearby restaurant.

Craughwell is an ideal stay cation with easy access to major...

Craughwell is an ideal stay cation with easy access to major highways. Galway is 20mins away, Clare coast 1hr. The town is small, has limited facilities, and is easily explored in 30mins, but as a b&b base for a 3 night stay, we found it ideal. There's a petrol station, pub, small resteraunt (open weekends), some shops, and a large Hotel serving food 1 mile away.

Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city.

Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city. This bus was not available from the railway station. You need to go elsewhere, but still close to the railway station to get a bus. Tickets may be purchased on the bus. The Craughwell bus stop is opposite the church there and you must tell the driver in advance where you want to alight. The screen inside the bus doesn't show locations. Craughwell offers nothing currently in 2024 for Solo Travellers without a car, in the evening sadly.
