I stayed there because my parents used to live just outside of the town and the hole family returned to reunite are mum with my dad who is buried there, a lot of the town has sadly closed down and there’s and there’s not a lot to do or see during the day every thing is closed and it’s hard to get anything to eat or drink.

Abbeyleix seems to exist in a timewarp - in the best possible sense. Absolutely charming little town with the friendliest inhabitants. Morrisey's Bar was one of the most atmospheric places imaginable - it was like stepping back in time.

Fabulous spot, tucked away amidst old oaks and beeches just outside Abbeyleix. Simon and Eilish are perfect hosts, and the whole property exudes a peaceful and powerful energy. A great spot to unwind, contemplate, and mix. Lovely fresh, healthy breakfast in the morning in my room. Take time to walk the grounds and experience the energy of the ancient navel. Highly recommend.

It's quite the experience! The old building, which use to be a school if I remember the hosts decscription correctly, has big old-style rooma and windows, a wonderful communal kitchen with everything you need for breakfast and more (even though it's more like a hotel) and beautiful dramatic dinner / tea rooms where you get to meet the other guests.

A well maintained modern hotel with very helpful staff. An excellent restaurant with a varied and quality menu. In a very accessible location with easy car parking. Affordable prices during a climate of soaring costs Thank you

Location was great and it was so quiet in the woods- loved it . Breakfast was also brought to the room so it was a winner not having to go to ‘ a hotel restaurant’ type of thing. It was peaceful

The hotel has been built for a number of years and probably needs a refurb in the rooms to bring them up to date. The breakfast was good value for money .
