The host gave us a warm welcome and even left us some homemade jam. I have to praise how well they hosted and received us. The nature around the property, as well as the ranch that belongs to it, is beautifully maintained. The property is neat and clean.

We loved walking around the streets, the shops and pubs.

We loved walking around the streets, the shops and pubs. It reminded us of how quaint England was about 30-40 years ago. There wasn’t any litter, no graffiti. The people were friendly. A lovely place with lots of things to do. We really enjoyed our visit to Kenny & Co cafe opposite the Bounty Bar. The Bounty Bar had a great atmosphere at night.

My visit to Trim on August 8–9, 2025, was an absolute delight! This charming heritage town in County Meath is a hidden gem that blends rich history with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The highlight for me was exploring Trim Castle, a stunningly preserved Norman fortress with breathtaking views from the keep—its history and grandeur are truly captivating. Wandering through the town’s quaint streets, I loved the cozy vibe of local cafes and pubs, where friendly locals added to the charm. The River Boyne walkway was perfect for a peaceful stroll, with beautiful scenery and a serene ambiance. Trim’s compact size made it easy to explore, yet there was so much to see, from the ancient ruins of the Yellow Steeple to the vibrant community spirit. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a relaxing getaway, Trim is a must-visit destination. I’d rate this trip a 9/10 and can’t wait to return!

Great location to stop for one night after flying into...

Great location to stop for one night after flying into Dublin and heading over to Doolin. We were able to walk around the town and see the castle and the trail that runs along the river is beautiful.

Easily the most rounded town I have ever visited for a vacation. There was everything I could need there in order to support a trip, plenty of unique accommodations, dozens of attractions for free/cheap, and more than enough local places to grab a bite to eat! The public transportation is as good as you would expect, but just about everything is a casual walk away from the center of the town.

Give some time to this compact town brimming with history. A wonderful brochure is produced to explain the many historic landmarks and a circuit to tour them by car. So much going back to early Christianity and the powerful families who built Trim Castle and other structures. Plenty of good food and just a great vibe overall.

The comfy king sized bed and big flat screen tv were so welcome after a long day of travelling in the rain. Was a perfect room for just staying in and watching a movie in bed. Location was fabulous - just a two minute walk across Ireland’s oldest bridge and you were at Trim Castle! Room also had a view of castle which was nice. Bar looked good downstairs but we didn’t go. Shower was fabulous and there were lots of hooks to hang all your stuff/dry things out. Basic accommodation that met expectations - would stay again.

It was a late booking, travelling with 2 teens and 1 child so booked 2 rooms literally 2 hours before arriving. Beautiful hotel and the price was fantastic value. Rooms very lovely - spotless and beds were very comfy. My grandson was delighted. Breakfast was great with plenty of options and the staff were lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend. The absolute bonus for my grandson was to walk out on the rooftop bar the following morning to see Trim Castle.

The hotel is located right in the middle of Trim, there is parking across the road for 2 euro which is great value. The staff were very nice and accommodating, and the food and drinks in the bar were decent. Very good value for money.

The guesthouse was so nice. Beautiful, comfortable and clean room. Great options for breakfast. Only a few minutes from Trim. We were attending a wedding in the station house hotel and it was a 10 minute drive.
