Quadraple rooms(room 306 booked online) where we were alloted was quite small - actually double-room. In Europe/USA they are single occupancy rooms. Room 301 was a proper quadraple room, facing sea - but rooms like these were not alloted to us. Staff, including restaurant very friendly, attentive. Food was excellent.

I visited almost after 15 years, Digha has become a really hot destination for tourism in West Bengal, the footfall has increased many folds, hardly any space left over the weekend even in this hot summer. Majority of the standard hotels have no rooms left, the new cultural heritage "Jagannath Dham Cultural Centre" has really made a mark. Digha is now booming in terms of the number of tourists, well defined paver-blocked pathway by the sea, adjacent amusement parks, gifts & souvenir shops, food stalls galore and some of the famous Bengali cuisine brands, famous fast-food chains, all transportation mechanism such as train, bus or cars from any parts of the West Bengal or part of Orissa. To be honest I was absolutely flabbergasted by the hustle and bustle in Digha, the mass of people flocked together, illumination of this nick of the world in the night, local attractions, connectivity to the other nearby seashore spots were just amazing! There has been a quantum jump from what I saw in 2010 in terms of infrastructure, transportation, facilities, tidy-up, look & feel, mix of different strata of the society, just wowed me. Digha is not far away from being the most popular tourist spot across all seasons.

Digha remains a popular getaway for Bengalis seeking a quick holiday. With improving accessibility, travelers can reach Digha by private car, bus, or train. However, road congestion after Ramnagar can be a hassle for those driving. The town is continuously developing, with significant infrastructure improvements. The road connecting Mohana to Talsari now offers a scenic drive along the shore. Additionally, the upcoming Jagannath Temple is set to become a major attraction. In a few months, devotees may no longer need to travel to Puri to worship Jagannath Ji during Ratha Yatra.

Digha is considered a great option for a relaxed beach getaway close to Kolkata, with its main attraction being the wide, clean New Digha Beach, perfect for leisurely walks and enjoying calm waters, although some find it a bit too calm for swimming; however, the area around "Old Digha" can be more crowded.

Stay in Old Digha if you really want to enjoy the sea.

Stay in Old Digha if you really want to enjoy the sea. Great stay options facing the sea would be Hotel Sea Hawk and Saikatabas. Both hotels have fine dining options though I liked the food in Sea Hawk more than Saikatabas. For bathing in the sea, best option is Bhorsagar Beach near Sea Hawk hotel on the Digha Mohana road. Best time of the day: Between 12 Noon and 3 PM. For budget friendly stay a little far from the beach, go for WBTDC operated Dighali 1 or Dighali 2 tourist lodges.

The staff behavior was very good along with the manager. The food was excellent. The distance from the old Digha beach is just 5-6 mins walk. So, it is value-for-money.
