Ether Marari Beachfront provides a serene retreat with sea views and an immaculately kept garden, offering a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle beyond its grounds. The golden sand beach is inviting, and the ocean water is clean but not clear (I doubt this is a flaw of the place, it's just the nature of the ocean in this part of the world.) There are nice waves to play in in the water, and there's no stones in the water. The water also doesn't get deep too rapidly. It's a great beach overall, especially considering that it's usually empty aside from another hotel guest or two sharing it with you. Regarding the shore reinforcement work nearby, when we went the work happening on the beach was basically done in front of Ether, and they were working on the next segment over. I would say it's no longer an issue to be concerned about. The accommodations are spacious, spotless, and meticulously maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. The pool at the resort is pristine and spotless, so if the waves on the beach are too big, you can still cool off in the pool. We were seriously impressed how clean the pool was. There is no fixed menu, which can make it difficult to know what dishes are available or possible, especially for foreign guests who may be unfamiliar with the options. That said, the meals are overall enjoyable, thoughtfully prepared, and of good quality. Prices at the restaurant are midway between touristy restaurants and the more local (but still touristy restaurants). The manager is friendly and eager to assist with arranging transportation or fulfilling other requests. Thank you Max for taking good care of us. :) The staff are exceptionally attentive and service-oriented, despite occasional language challenges. All in all, Ether Marari Beachfront is peaceful oasis with warm hospitality with all the western amenities. Most of all, we appreciated that this is not a giant corporate resort, so you still get that personal touch.

Marari Beach Bungalow is a slice of paradise. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The hotel is absolutely exquisite. Everything from the furniture to the art work is thought out so carefully. The garden and pool area are magical. The pool was far bigger than we had thought. This hotel felt more like a retreat as it was so relaxing and peaceful. The rooms were very big and comfortable. The beds were huge and very comfy! The staff were the kindest, friendliest most helpful people I’ve ever met at any hotel. The wonderful couple who own the hotel clearly love their hotel and have put in so much care to make the experience so special. We could not be more grateful to them! The beach is a 5 minute walk. It’s a long beautiful beach, lovely and quiet. We had the most wonderful swims there. We were all very sad to leave and cannot wait to return to this heavenly place!

I really felt like family with Pradeep and Seema! The food was really tasty and plenty, they always helped out with everything I needed, making sure my trip was comfortable, like if I was with family friends. The location is exceptional, literally a few steps from the sea! I really enjoyed the flowering garden, the sounds of the birds and the surrounding forest! WiFi worked great!

I had a very nice stay at Babu's Homestay at the end of February 2024 with an excellent price-performance ratio. The house and the room I stayed in were very clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom had a shower with hot water and plenty of water pressure. The hosts were very helpful, the breakfast was very good and filling, the evening meal that I was able to enjoy was the best dinner of my stay in Kerala. Babu is also a tuk-tuk driver and organizes rides at a fair price. Since I already bought a SIM card at the airport, I didn't use the WiFi there and can't say anything about it. The path to the clean, sandy beach is very short, when I was there the beach had some distance to the fishing boats on the left and right, and there were loungers with parasols for rent. There were also a few beach cafes nearby, but compared to Varkala Beach, where I was before, it is very quiet and the bars close well before midnight. The water is not flat and the waves can be very strong, so caution is advised. The water is very warm, as is to be expected on a tropical beach. All in all, I spent a few wonderful days in Marari Beach.

The helpfulness of the family when we arrived in the thunderstorm was quite a special moment to say the least . We couldn't make it out as the weather was so bad . They made us some food of their own. This was an amazing meal, we had had to take the recipe back with us ! The location is so close to the beach (5 min walk) and their garden was spectacular! Only wish we could achieve this in the uk . The room was exceptionally clean upon arrival with great facilities. We have had two weeks in kerala, this was the best home stay by far .

The staff were exceptional. We came with our little boy (1.5yrs) and he loved every moment, we couldn't stop him exploring. From the beach (very clean and maintained), the swimming pool, the butterfly garden, the vegetable garden, the activity hall, the electric buggy, the kids playground and more he was kept busy and happy throughout. We would definitely come back.

The most beautiful beach in Kerala- clean, peaceful, naturally gifted and gorgeous. It's a little quaint town and I am glad I skipped staying in busy and crowded alleypey, and rather chose to stay in Marari which is just half n hour auto ride from alleypey.

The beach is lovely, the sea warm, and the fishing boats a real picture. Well worth walking south where there is no development and wonderful peace.We ate every day at Ecstacy, a nearby cafe/restaurant which served ace freshly prepared juices and food with many smiles.

It's a beautiful and less crowded beach destination in India. Great people and has some wonderful accommodation from budget to luxury accommodation. Alleppey backwater and beach is just 10 km from Marari.

Very small sleepy village perfect for a remote escape. Unspoiled beach and nature with friendly inhabitants. A total escape. It is not a tourist spot but a quiet escape. The remoteness means little amenities like restaurants and shops. Come prepared with some snacks and supplies. A large resort hotel and some smaller ones, along with homestay, but little else for the independent traveller

Great area - a little away from the hustle & bustle of other areas so it is quieter. The beach is beautiful, clean & quiet. Easy to get transport to other areas for more activity - close to backwater tours etc. Only limitation is perhaps lack of eating out options within walking area, best to have hotel with restaurant otherwise will need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi.

The resort was a little too far away from the beach and the beach had no chairs, shade or umbrellas making it very difficult to stay very long. The surrounding area was not good to stroll around. The massage treatments are a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away and are quite expensive for India £34. We have been paying £15 previously.

Amazing hospitality. The family who run this homestay are so friendly. The homestay is short walk from the beach (go there for sunset!). We booked a budget room but it certainly didn't feel like it was! The room and bathroom were spotless and we had a sitting area outside in the garden. Breakfast was delicious and the dinner was even better (probably the best meal we had in Kerala). Much recommended, and great value for the price.

This homestay has the most perfect location, right on the beach overlooking the fishermen at work and the beautiful sea. We sat on the balcony every morning to have a delicious and plentiful breakfast with a choice of Indian food or toast and omelette. Fresh fruit was served alongside whatever breakfast we chose. Our host Jiji was very attentive and helpful. He booked activities for us and organised tuk tuks when we needed them.

The room I booked was spacious and had a nice private balcony. The location is perfect, near the beach. The family was very sweet and they cooked delicious breakfast and dinner. I spent wonderful time in Marari Neena Beach homestay.
