Quiet, peaceful place meant for nature lovers who like to wander around in nature parks and scenic environments. The teak museum with its attached butterfly park and its lovely, rambling horticultural gardens will delight people who are interested in learning about plants. The wealth of plants, flowers, orchids and trees are all meticulously labeled, complete with their botanical names. Nilambur is famous for being a former gold mining center with the Chaliyar river waters carrying gold deposits. Local transport is not a problem since there are plenty of buses and autos. You can also hire an auto for the whole day for a negotiated sum and you will be taken around all the places that you want to visit. This is what we did, we retained the auto which we hired at the railway station to come to the lodgings.

Enjoyed the food at Union Hotel.

Enjoyed the food at Union Hotel. Honest Bakery was too good with the best milk cake(kalakand), jackfruit chips and Carrot cake. The people on the streets were most friendly and helpful. The Teak Museum is too good.
