My visit to Baghdad was an unforgettable experience, filled with warmth, hospitality, and cultural richness. The people of Iraq are incredibly welcoming, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Their kindness and generosity left a deep impression on me. Baghdad itself is a city of history and beauty, where ancient heritage meets vibrant modern life. Walking through its streets, I could feel the echoes of civilization, from its magnificent landmarks to its lively markets and cultural treasures. The depth of history and the richness of traditions here are truly mesmerizing. I only wish I had more time to explore not just Baghdad but the entire country. Iraq is a land of incredible beauty, with so much to see, learn, and experience. I look forward to returning and discovering more of its wonders!

Baghdad is an incredibly interesting city with warm and welcoming people. Contrary to what you might hear in Europe, it is completely safe. You can easily explore the city on your own, even at night, and you’ll encounter nothing but kind people ready to help and happy to welcome you to their country. I highly recommend visiting the old part of the city with a guide, as there are countless stories and hidden gems that you wouldn’t find or understand otherwise. For a traditional breakfast, don’t miss **Rasul Kahi Geymar**—definitely the most authentic and local experience I’ve ever had. We also visited the Iraqi National Museum, which is a must for anyone interested in ancient civilizations. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of this region.

Baghdad Museum is a must. Book Street is another must. Be careful of Fridays where most places are closed. You could easily do 4 days here. It's easier to do a day trip to Samarra from here as well. Festival and Parade Ground is great to walk to. Wasn't allowed photos on one side but walked to the other and was allowed for some reason.

The traffic streets are very annoying, and the routine of visiting official departments and the lack of bars for drinking alcohol. The good thing I found is the openness of women in dress and not wearing the hijab, especially in the Karkh area.

The city is a crowded mess of Cars.

The city is a crowded mess of Cars. There is too much traffic. The diesel generator runs 24/7 due to power issues. Otherwise, the city is beautiful. There are friendly people everywhere. Not many options for vegetarians. People eat beef, lamb and chicken.

A Memorable Stay in Baghdad – Highly Recommended.

A Memorable Stay in Baghdad – Highly Recommended. During my time in Baghdad, I had the pleasure of experiencing a city that is rich in history and culture, with some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The warmth and hospitality shown by the locals made my stay incredibly special, and I felt welcomed wherever I went. From the vibrant markets to the beautiful historic sites, there is so much to explore. What stood out most, however, was the kindness of the people. Everyone I encountered, from shopkeepers to families, went out of their way to make me feel at home, offering help, advice, and always a warm smile. Baghdad is often misunderstood, but I highly recommend a visit for anyone interested in discovering its true essence. The city’s resilience and the pride of its people shine through in every interaction, making it a truly unforgettable destination. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or simply meeting some of the most genuine people in the world, Baghdad should be on your travel list.

The breakfast was perfect. A variety of food options such as pastries, cheeses, cooked dishes, eggs, in addition to some popular Iraqi and Arabic dishes. As for the location, it is relatively close to the markets of the Karrada area, but you have to use a taxi to get to other places.
