The location right next to the Geysir made this Hotel perfect for a stay during our 3 day stopover in Iceland. However, once on site - the hotel exceeded our expectations! The spacious architecture of the building is very impressive with a very stylish nordic interior design. The room was nice and had a very comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast were excellent - do not forget to try the Geysir Bread! The staff were outstanding - very friendly and helpful. A big tanks to Georgiana who helped me get back my scarf that I forgot in the room. Wished we could have stayed there longer.

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very regular and worth seeing. No long walks available at the site. Visitors centre was okay although light on info as to the geology of the site and how geysers work. Good cafeteria.

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the...

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.

Wish we stayed one more night! Great location around many attractions. The hotel wasn't too big that it was buzzing with tourist every time you left your room (like another hotel we experienced). Lovely farm views. The restaurant was amazing! We ate a lot of lamb on the trip and this hotel restaurant prepared a good cut very well. Friendly staff whos faces were saw from day-to-night as Iceland is a small county and we were just commencing off peak during our stay.

The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The best part of this hotel is its location, which is very close to several must-see spots in this area of Iceland. I was also very lucky because, being in a rural area, I could see the Northern Lights from the hotel. Another strength of the hostel is its staff. They are very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic experience!! Couldn’t recommend it more. It was a pleasure to stay here for the night. So relaxing being out in nature but still with all the comforts of a hotel. Lovely breakfast the next morning as well. The separate shower block, that is communal, is very clean.
