Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. I think what makes me think of this place as even more magical and unforgettable than it is anyway is its artwork - it was stunning and utterly heartwarming in its simplicity. Perfect value for money and location. The place was perfectly clean and the bathroom was a stunner with its space, modern decor and heated floors. We loved everything about the property. The room was very cozy and clean. The location was perfect (right in the middle of the golden circle). We also loved that we could get a delicious farm to table dinner on the property as well as ice cream and coffee. The staff was very friendly and we loved the dogs and cows.

Haukadur was easy to get around and the geyser is very regular and worth seeing. No long walks available at the site. Visitors centre was okay although light on info as to the geology of the site and how geysers work. Good cafeteria.

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.

The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The best part of this hotel is its location, which is very close to several must-see spots in this area of Iceland. I was also very lucky because, being in a rural area, I could see the Northern Lights from the hotel. Another strength of the hostel is its staff. They are very friendly and welcoming.

The yurts are a refreshing welcome to a the conventional hotel/ room. So impressed with how insulated they were. Staff was outstanding and breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend.
