Nice and clean room. Easy getting there from the main road. Good places to eat few minutes drive. The staff at the hotel restaurant are so nice! There was a boy from Andalucia Spain so friendly and a lovely girl from Cataluña. They told us some tricks to see the Northern Lights and we Saw it that night!!! So fantastic! Great experience and I really recommend it.

Very spacious room. Big comfortable beds. Very quiet area. Shower was very hot after a day exploring outside. Breakfast was also wonderful with a good variety. The young woman working there was super friendly and knowledgeable with great suggestions of the area. She seemed to be the only one working as she greeted us, cleaned the room and made the breakfast. Seemed to enjoy herself. Highly recommend staying here!

Having to 'get around Ring Road' definitely has its drawbacks. The biggest one we found was when you found a great place, your time there was limited. We did stop for the Lava Show in Vik, which was great, and we had dinner there as well. There was not enough time to really see everything before having to move on.

Vik is a small town on the coast mostly supporting the tourist industry. Like most of Iceland, beautiful scenery and views all around. Great launching point to national parks and stay over if going east or west.

We came out to hike a glacier, see a few waterfalls, walk the beaches and then go to Westman Islands. We did all of this in 24 hours and this was not nearly enough. Really needed more time in each place and should have stayed an extra night to go explore a little further east!!

A lovely change from Reykjavik and surrounds. Beautiful scenery and more tranquil, although still lots of tourists. We did the Katla Ice Cave trip which was really interesting. About 2.5 hours drive from Reykjavik but worth it.

I stayed there for two nights when one would’ve more than sufficed. Other than walking on the beach or hiking up to the church, there really wasn’t much to do there except go to expensive restaurants. They did have a nice big grocery store there that was in a small complex that included the Icewear store.(the Icelandic clothing line)

We had a great experience here. Gorgeous views and location, a bit of a drive to Vik but not too far. The staff were lovely. Food was good - dinner was pricey, but this is standard in Iceland. The room was a good size and comfortable - and the curtains were black out which was amazing, given the late sunset and early sunrise (and a toddler who only sleeps in darkness!).

Lovely hotel, felt like a luxurious treat after travelling to Iceland and down the ring road. Room was lovely, large and very clean. Staff were friendly, there was a restaurant too but we arrived to late to eat there. Nice views of Vik from our room but it is a street or two back from the black beach.

I had a brief stay at Hotel Katla in Vik, Iceland. The room was clean and spacious, and it's conveniently located, just a 5-minute drive from Vik. I didn't have the chance to use their facilities, but the breakfast was both ample and delicious.

Probably the nicest place we stayed in Iceland. Beautiful spacious suite overlooking the coast. Whilst its not cheap it was the best value for money against anywhere else we stayed, just because it was so lovely.
