This is a unique one when it comes to parking. So instead of walking through a hallway to find your room number, you drive to your room. The road on the property is in essence the 'hallway'. You then park your car in front of your room that has the giant room number on the door. (It has a sort of 'private' driveway, separated with a hedge on both sides). It's kind of like you're parking in front of your home. Up until now, this has been the safest and most convenient way I've ever parked my car at a hotel. I love this system. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good. Everything was clean. Breakfast was better than a lot of other places in Sicily. (Eggs, bacon, cereal, tomatoes, toast, etc...) The staff was very polite and friendly. The property's outside area was neat, lots of green, well organized infrastructure. A place to sit outside, trash cans available. Abundance of parking space. As well as electric car charging spaces. Very safe, lots of surveillance cameras everywhere. There's fitness facilities, a 24/7 bar and the more expensive rooms have a jacuzzi. Dog friendly hotel. There were no problems regarding my 30kg Labrador. However, dogs are not allowed in the breakfast area. The surrounding area isn't too great if you want to go get a coffee on a terrace or something. There is one hiking path I found that goes down to the shore (dangerous, don't swim there). And a shopping mall at a 5min walk that has a pet store, clothing store, supermarkets, pastry store, etc etc...

Loved this location and the view from the balcony/window at the grotesques was incredible. Really big room, plenty of space for the 3 of us. Included breakfast at cafe Cipriani each morning was a highlight of my trip! The owner was very helpful, very kind and generous, language barrier no problem.

The host,Marco, was great. He made great suggestions for dining.The apartment was very nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. The view of Mount Etna and the ocean was a real plus. We didn’t see too much of Acireale because we did day trips to Etna and Taormina. Travel was difficult,but worthwhile when we got to our destinations. Due to some guests physical limitations,we didn’t walk around the city too much. Would recommend this Apartment.

The town is wonderful and filled with history. we where...

The town is wonderful and filled with history. we where lucky enough to visit during their carnival, which is something special especially with children. Even the locals are wonderful, mornings in the piazza's are like from a movie, time moving slowly and everyone talking to each other over a coffee. I loved it and looking forward to visit again.

Acireale is a peaceful small city.

Acireale is a peaceful small city. Although not so big but has a lot to offer. The carnival is the main highlight of the city. Piazza Duomo is a lovely square in which there are various churches, restaurants, cafeterias, and outlets within a small walking distance. There are a couple of interesting sites to visit such as the Duomo of Saint Sebastian, the Acireale Cathedral dedicated to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary where you can go up to the bell tower, and various other adjacent churches. The Museo dei Pupi is also another must-visit site. The museum is about the art of puppetry, an art dating back centuries ago and which still was in place until the 70s. The Biblioteca Zelantea is another site that retraces the history of the city with a library containing historical books and documentation, paintings, statues, and other historical artifacts. The negative aspects of the city circle around the rubbish on the streets and various buildings requiring extensive restoration because they are old and shabby.

We stayed in Acireale so that we were fairly central without...

We stayed in Acireale so that we were fairly central without being in the middle of busy Catania. It was exactly what we had hoped for. A quiet, peaceful traditional sicilian town without the hustle and bustle. It is easy to get to and from the centre and the train station using a shuttle bus and there are regular trains to Catania, Taormina and further afield each day. Despite being a small town there were plenty of places to eat and drink, including some restaurants which could provide gluten free food for coeliacs and a dedicated gluten free bakery which was absolutely divine! We went in August which was also carnival time which was wonderful to watch.

There are much better place to stay in Sicily.

There are much better place to stay in Sicily. Acireale has very limited restaurants.. good for sea food lovers. Food was expensive! but not much varieties of Italian pizza and pasta! Views were good but Acireale is very quite and 25 minutes walk to the near place! No trains, trams and bus service! You have only two options to travel… walk or taxi. Sea looked beautiful but it was Rocky so I wasn’t comfortable to swim. Toarmina was good great. Avoid sea in Acireale. Go to south where you can find sandy beaches

A perfect place to spend good times in Sicily! Orazio and Gisella are super hosts and they have created a little paradise. The appartements (two) are nice and the garden and pool are amazing. We really enjoyed our stay at both appartements.
