The staff were exceptional, they are wonderfully considerate and very attentive. Many staff were also charming and genuine in their interactions with guests. The housekeeper was fantastic, what a delightful and endearing lady, like wise many of the restaurant staff added to the overall guest experience. Many of the guests had been visiting this hotel for years. All the guests we met were lovely people. There is a real loyalty towards this hotel from historic guests. We met one gentleman from Switzerland who has been visiting for 45 years. Most of the guests we met have been here several times. This is a true testament to the hotel, staff and management. Of course there is the location, fine food to mention but for us the highlight was the people.

Wonderful! Location, breakfast, dinner, design and efficient staff. In Wednesdays the boat of the hotel takes the guests to the market in Luino and back. We received an upgrade and the room was with garden and lake view

The view from the room was beautiful, host Manuel did not speak English at all which made things very difficult. Could not offer assistance with travel directions to or from the property and the location is very difficult to get to.

Castelveccana is a contiguous group of smaller villages...

Castelveccana is a contiguous group of smaller villages along the lake. You can find good food in several places, for example, in Calde or just along the SP69 main road. There's also a Carefour nearby. Although small, it offers a wide variety of food.

The accommodation was booked as a stopover on our way to the seaside. The villa was situated in a beautiful park overlooking the lake. Thanks to the peace and quiet and the comfortable bed, we slept very well. The host was very friendly and helpful.

Quiet and clean. The picture on Booking.com is incorrect. Basement, stone tiles, and extremely cold. Therefore, only suitable in the height of summer. No heating from April 15th onwards, regardless of the weather. The room furnishings are inadequate, with only one wool blanket for four beds. No duvets are provided; only thin covers.

The town is very well connected by rail and Luino, where you can take boat trips. The town is elegant and quiet, but a friendly festival is organized at the end of July by the local rower Paolo G.

A quiet place, a short distance from other small villages...

A quiet place, a short distance from other small villages and you need a car to get around. I recommend a visit to Stresa and from there you can go to Isola Bella for example to see the Borromean Palace, which is definitely worth a visit.
