Very kind, helpful and friendly staff. Everything was very clean and well kept. The room was great - it has a large terrace with an amazing view and some furniture to sit, comfortable beds, and the fridge was also appreciated. We were happy with the breakfast options that included savory alternatives such as cheese, ham, scrambled eggs... The hotel also has private parking, which is great when coming by car. Overall the location was great and it while the hotel it is located next to a street, it was quiet in the night.

What to say. The hotel is called "Piccolo Mondo (i.e. Little world)" but it should more correctly be called "Little Paradise" because it is indeed in a spectacular place. Let's start from the reception where at every hour you can find super nice people available to solve any problem all under the direction of the very kind Mrs. Alessandra. In particular Gemma was super kind to let us anticipate breakfast the last day of our stay to allow us to leave early to catch a plane from Brindisi, as was very kind the man who was there at night whose name I don't remember. The room was beautiful although not very modern in style, but with a view of the sea that was magnificent. The hotel is in the green and so you can breathe nature (including hearing the sound of cicadas), but then a few meters away is the magnificent pool and the stairway to the sea as the hotel is on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea. During my stay I was only in the pool because it's filled with seawater, which makes it nice because you float like in the sea and it's nice and deep so you can take nice dives. And then by the pool you have the bar/restaurant with the guys who work there who are very nice. Finally there is breakfast which is served on a terrace with a sea view which is breathtaking and the breakfast is very good. The parking lot is very large. All in all the hotel for me is a 10 because it is a hotel that is worth a future visit!

This is a wonderful place to stay and explore the Salento region. Right in Castro, this is a home from home. Reminds you of Italy all your life. Immaculately kept, clean splendid building with enormous rooms. BEAUTIFUL garden space..airy and so sweet scenting. This can cater from 2 to 6 or seven people. Great kitchen and appliances. I honestly recommend it to any global traveller who wishes to explore the Salento.

Dear Julia, We can't express enough how delighted and satisfied we are with our stay in the apartment you rented to us in Castro, Italy. We had an unforgettable week, from August 26th to September 3rd, 2023, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and pampered. The apartment was a delightful surprise, far surpassing our expectations from the photos. It is tastefully decorated and has a cozy atmosphere that made us feel at home right away. There was nothing lacking in this apartment, from the washing machine to the dishwasher, from the coffee machine to the refrigerator, and much more. Your kindness was also evident in the small details, like finding olive oil, coffee, cookies, and a bottle of water upon our arrival. These personal touches made our stay even more special. We particularly adored the terrace with the morning sun, where we spent our breakfasts and lunches. Additionally, the assistance you provided in obtaining the resident parking permit was greatly appreciated and made our experience even more convenient. Your generous guidance on places to visit and things to do in the area enriched our vacation. Thanks to your recommendations, we discovered wonderful places that we might have otherwise overlooked. The location of the apartment is simply perfect, just a few minutes from the nearest beach and a short 10-15 minute walk to the historic center. Castro is a charming place, and your apartment made our visit to this beautiful town even more special. All in all, we can't recommend your apartment and the town of Castro enough. We genuinely hope to return one day to enjoy this oasis of beauty and hospitality once again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our stay so unforgettable, Julia. The location was incredible! A short walk to the most beautiful water we have ever swam in (Castro marina). We have travelled Italy for 5 weeks and this has been the best location. The house is comfortable and everything we needed. Beautiful views, great kitchen and laundry facilities. The hosts were friendly and responsive. Cannot recommend enough.

Casa Di Giordy deserves well beyond a 10/10. We stayed for four nights and truly wished we could have stayed longer. The owners, Assunta and Rosario, made Giordy’s feel like home from the very beginning. They were incredibly accommodating; on our first night, when we missed the last bus to the property, they kindly offered to pick us up from the train station. Each morning, we were greeted warmly by Assunta and Rosario with smiles and a bountiful breakfast spread. We were spoiled for choice: cakes, crumbles, biscuits, juices, coffee, tea, cereals, and more!! with extra food offered to take on our day trips. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and homely, always kept spotless by Assunta herself with fresh towels and a clean, inviting scent. The balcony offered stunning views, and the air conditioning was perfect for the summer heat. The facilities were generous and well thought out, making our stay as comfortable as possible. As visitors from Australia, we had plenty of questions, and Assunta and Rosario went above and beyond to help us. They assisted us in renting a scooter, helped us get around when we didn’t have transport, and Rosario even drove us to our next accommodation in Otranto, taking the time to stop at scenic spots along the way so we could enjoy the views. We cannot thank Assunta and Rosario enough for their generosity, kindness, and genuine care. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. Casa Di Giordy isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place where you feel truly welcomed and cared for. We will absolutely be back, and we already miss you both!

Castro is a beautiful town, divided into 2 parts, hill top...

Castro is a beautiful town, divided into 2 parts, hill top old town , 10 -15 minutes ( steep) walk to the sea. The old town is fabulous , very small and choice of good places to eat. We were happy we chose to stay in the old town as it had more atmosphere. The port is stunning, so many places to swim, no beach but lots of rocks to swim from and little stairs to get in and out of the water. You can rent umbrellas and sun beds down by the harbor, we had to as it was mid thirties temp when we were there in late July. If you have your own umbrellas it might be tricky to put them up as it is all rocks, no sand. It’s a little jewel if a town, mostly Italian locals and tourists. You won’t regret your visit!

It is a lovely village we were lucky enough to stay while it was still quiet Like all seaside villages in Summer holidays I would imagine it would get very busy but I’m so happy to have spent time there

Hotel La Roccia is located right in the Marina and on the waterfront. Older style hotel with a few modern additions. Excellent location and views with access to beach chairs/beach club. Room was very spacious and quite basic but good value for money. Staff were always helpful. Walking distance to great swimming spots, cafes and restaurants. You walk to the old hill top town in about 20 minutes or take the tourist train for the uphill walk.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the most amazing spot just across from the ocean. The rooms are dated but they are clean and tidy. A kettle in the room with tea and coffee would have been a nice addition.
