The best place in Sardinia.
The best place in Sardinia. Cute Italian town with picturesque houses, great restaurants and the best gelato. We loved going from beach to beach, they all possess different qualities, but they are all lovely with the bluest water I’ve seen. You definitely need a car or a Vespa to get the best experience. The waters surrounding La Maddalena are stunning, the closest to the Caribbean I have experienced in the Mediterranean. La Maddalena is relatively small and easy to get around with a car. Depending on where you are staying, beaches may be within walking distance. La Maddalena is such a beautiful island, loved the geology of the island and felt very comfortable in the town. We were there 4 nights.
We were there 4 nights. We ate at the "off the beaten track" restaurants and a couple little pubs. It's easy to get around on foot or by car. Research boat tours before going, I think I would book a small sailboat tour next time as opposed to a large boat. Loved it, wish I had more time. If you can hire a car, I'd recommend that so you can get to all the beautiful beaches. Go for a sail tour also! So many options for restaurants. Everything was at our doorstep, no more than a 1 minute walk anywhere. The room was extremely clean, spacious and modern. Stefano was an excellent host, and gave us great recommendations for food, beach, and even car trouble. He also provided breakfast every morning, with very generous servings of delicious pastries!
