I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)

The hosts were already awaiting me, a nice couple! While the location is quite remote, it was perfect for me, being on a 6-days-motorcycle trip in Liguria. Can specificially recommend also for TET-riders, if you come down from Colle di Garezzo, or plan the next day go to Colle die Garezzo and then to Via de Sale. If you are 1.80m like me, watch your head :) This aweseom, super silent village was build so long ago, when people didnt grow so high. But it has everything in it you need. Sylvana and husband also invited me to a nice dinner, everything cooked by herself.

The chalet BRAGARD was very comfortable and staff were very welcoming. A lot of attention to detail and thoughtful touches made the stay very memorable. Food was good and in particular the breakfast was very generous. Also the use of a driver meant getting around very easy and stress free. I would highly recommend a stay here if you wanted to have a base where everything is taken care of.
