Modica is a very old town on South-east Sicily, quite important for her history and baroque architecture. Getting around is easy, if you like to walk a lot! There are a lot of stairs and climbings to get to Modica Alta, but it's worth. Food is very good and there are still restaurants with good prices. From Modica you can reach the beach in half an hour by car, and you can also visit several good natural spots (like Riserva Naturale di Pantalica, Cavagrande, Vendicari) just driving one/two hours. Good craftwork as well, especially ceramics.

Modica is a must-see if you are visiting the south of Sicily...

Modica is a must-see if you are visiting the south of Sicily. The rich architecture majestically adorns the hills that surround the centre. The quaint streets and stunning views are simply idyllic. We were lucky enough to visit during the Easter festivities which really highlight the spirit of Sicilian culture. You are spoilt for choice with restaurants - wherever you go the food is exquisite and the service is warm and friendly.

Modica is really cleaned and has beautiful big streets. We could visit it just by walking around. Everything was close: shops, restaurants, train station. It's family friendly. Their specialty is the meat chocolate. They have a Bubble Tea shop.

Modica is a good base to visit not only the town itself, but also the other nearby Baroque towns in the area - Ragusa, Noto and other smaller less well-known towns. It is a smaller town and appears to be less busy than the others - parking is easier for example and there is a good urban bus service (Modica is a hill town!).

Itria Modica owner really helped with choice of a restaurant on busy Saturday night. Ragusa Ibla and Modica were both interesting and quite contrasting visits. Particularly loved the hotel....views amazing and pure quality at an affordable price

Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.

Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

The views are incredible, the swimming pool is nice but might be a little small if the hotel was really busy. We wished we'd stayed here for longer. Modica is a stunning and unique place. It's a really high quality hotel, the decor, quality of the room, the pool, the breakfast, the views from the dining area. We found free parking right outside the hotel too and it was pretty easy to get to but we're confident and experienced drivers.

Awesome place for the money. We especially loved the view from the small terrace and the bright room attached. I also quite loved the little kitchen too. It felt like my granny's home with all the comforts. The wifi was some of the best we've had in Sicily. There is also a grocery store at the end of the street which was handy.

The apartment is in Modica centre. It was even better than we expected, close to everything, in the beautiful old town. You don't want to miss these streets if you come to Sicily, it was the best experience. The apartment was clean, modern and very nice. The hosts were also very kind, we're glad for everything!
