We liked Muggia.
We liked Muggia. It is small and easy to navigate the old town. The main Piazza has several bars and cafes, friendly and welcoming for a drink or a meal, and fun for people watching. There are more cafes and bars towards the waterfront. Just stroll around and enjoy the relative tranquility. We arrived in Trieste by train, taxi to Muggia was around 35 euros. We took a day trip back to Trieste by ferry (fun in itself), and did lots of walking from Muggia. It's a nice respite from the tourist circuit, and so pretty with stone buildings and small alleyways, plus the castle (exterior) and Duomo to enjoy. Muggia Vecchio, up on the hill behind, was well worth the walk.Guest review bySallyNew Zealand

The whole building has been renovated and furnished in a slightly rustic, romantic but really tasteful style. The building has three rooms with separate bathrooms and a common kitchen area which is fully equipped. We really appreciated the breakfast and the unlimited coffee provided by the kind host.
