The streets and squares. Visiting the Etruscan well (as recommended by our hosts) was very interesting. Our hosts also recommended the restaurant Il Cantinone and they were absolutely right. Incredibly beautiful old town with lots of charm. Try to book accomodation in the old town on top of the mountain. Parking difficult. At Piazza Italia, there are street parking spaces for which you can pay on a meter. There was nothing to dislike but older people like us should wear sensible shoes. Most areas are cobbled but it is part of the history. We were at a wedding 25 mins fro Perugia but lunch outside are hotel was great with wonderful views Easy to get round no buses. A place that deserves to be visited not just once or twice! Situated in Italy's green heart Umbria, Perugia is lived by people with big heart, too. I found the staff really helpful. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel for a few hours after I left the first time and was able to check in early for my 2nd stay.
