Beautiful accommodation on the hill in the village of San Vigilio overlooking the center and the slopes. The perfect starting point for visiting Kronplatz, the ski bus stop is a few meters from the hotel. The hotel also has a hot tub and sauna, which is a great way to relax after skiing. Rich breakfast, there is also a great pizzeria nearby. The service is nice and helpful.

The rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. The property has stunning views, and a wonderful Swimmingpool with Wellness area. My Partner and I were there for her Birthday as she’s always wanted to visit the Lago Di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) which is about a 40 minute drive from the Hotel. The route to Lago di Braies entails Panoramic views of the Dolomites. On the eve of my Partners Birthday I asked the owner if she could arrange a Birthday surprise for my Partner. In most cases it wouldn’t have been possible because the Bakeries were already closed etc. however, the owner and the staff made it happen. My Partner is Pregnant and it really made her entire Birthday trip. While in certain parts of our European trip I encountered less than friendly people, here at the Hotel Gran Pre I was treated with respect and kindness. The room cleaning service even tidied up our room and mopped the floors clean (which is often not the case at Hotels) The breakfast had many fresh options, and the Cappuccino was divine. During checkout, the owners Daughter gave us the Hotels card with a sincere welcome to contact them the next time we wanted to visit. I would give the hotel, including staff a 10 out of 10. My Partner was just as satisfied as I am. If you’re planning a trip to San Vigilio de Marebbe, then this hotel is truly worth a visit.

Location was perfect, in the middle of the best attractions of Dolomites, village Pieve di Marebbe was peacefull, and quiet (except the Church tower :D). My appartment was on the last floor (2nd), I had for myself kitchen with dining area, balcony, living room, bathroom and bedroom. We quite liked the village - it felt nicer than most other villages in the surrounding area. This is because it is a bit bigger than most and has more traditional town layout (instead of being village lined out next to the main street). Architecture is mostly traditional, which gives it the right alpine village vibe. There is a good choice for places to eat and a decent SPAR store. Ski lift is nearby. It seems that every other house is a hotel or a guest house, so finding the right accommodation should be fairly easy.

Beautiful South Tyrol resort offering everything you need for any mountain activities you can imagine or just pure relaxation. With mix of old buildings and modern ski infrastructure this place offers true alpine ambient. On top of surroundings I really enjoyed local cuisine that is simple but based on natural local ingredients exceptionally good in every restaurant we had a chance to visit. My favorites were "Chi Cianeis" for lunch and "Plazores" for dinner.

St. Vigil itself is nothing too special: It's a quaint little village, with one or two semi-decent restaurants. You will eat far better in Brixen. But it's the breathtaking environment that makes up for it!

The town of San Vigilio di Marebbe is not large, but it has...

The town of San Vigilio di Marebbe is not large, but it has everything we need for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants, as well as bars and souvenir shops. A definite plus is the gas station right at the entrance to the town. As always in Italy, you need to pay attention to traffic signs and speed cameras. The town has a charming atmosphere with beautiful views.

If you are looking for tidy, small, quiet and peaceful town with very good connection to Kronplatz ski area, and you prefer Austrian to Italian lifestyle, cuisine and general vibes - this is the perfect place! For more vibrant, fancy or party-active holiday, perhaps look elsewhere in Italy :)

San Vigilio di Marebbe is a good starting point for...

San Vigilio di Marebbe is a good starting point for Kronplatz. You can go up and find good places where it not necessary to go down after whole day using black slopes. There are also a good restaurants there. Enjoy!

We received a very friendly welcome and felt very comfortable from the first minute of our stay. The owners create a very family atmosphere and the hotel offers everything you could want after a day of skiing. Breakfast and dinner are served with local products and high quality. The nearby parking space included in the price was also very practical.

The landlord was very nice. Our car ran out of gas on the road at midnight, and the driver brought fuel to pick us up, helped us call the police, stayed with us until the car was taken care of, and safely drove us back to the hotel. The service attitude was excellent, and the room was clean and tidy.
