Our stay was fantastic! The location is just a short walk to Pompei, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The pool was big, clean, and a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The owner of the hotel was particularly good and helpful. Breakfast was very enjoyable with fresh bread and croissants, fresh fruit great coffee and cakes. Bedroom was spotlessly clean and had good bathroom and towels changed daily. Kettle available if wanted. Bedroom is adequate size with balcony. Hotel is a 10 minute walk into town and convenient to visit the ruins.

As I've advised people in the past, if you have the stamina, put aside a whole day or more for a Pompeii experience, and include the Naples Archeological museum and Herculaneum in your trip. Pompei is much larger than you expect it to be, and it only grows in size and wonder as the years continue. This is an enormous exhibit that you can get lost in, and never find a lack of new sights to see. No matter how long you spend there, you'll leave thinking about what you didn't get to see. I also recommend visiting the museum prior to visiting the sites, as the scale, range, and quality of the artifacts in the museum will begin to prepare you for what you are about to see onsite. I won't bother adding pictures, as there are so many already out there that you'll encounter in any effort to prepare for a visit, and they'll never truly express what you will discover with your own eyes.

The archaeological site is vast, keep track of the block numbers and you can easily dodge any large tour groups you come across and circle back to the interesting buildings. Paying the extra few quid for a full ticket and walking up to the villa de mysteries is well worth it. Ignore the touts that tell you you're going the wrong way, but don't tell them to go away or they'll gang up on you, they're scum.

Spent 2 days , could have used a 3rd but amazed at what has been unearthed since my last visit. The queue to get audio unit is the same for tickets, which if you have an online ticket is annoying as the queue was long. Once inside you need to watch your step as the flagstone are uneven, but keep your eyes open, a lot of stuff is above eye level.

Been on my bucket list since studying Classical Studies at school. It did not disappoint. Steeped in history and you get a real feel for the terror those people experienced when Vesuvius erupted. I climbed to the crater so peaceful now hard to believe it caused such destruction. Seeing the House of the Faun made my day at Pompeii. Herculaneum was as impressive but smaller and easy to navigate. Pompeii is huge and it was hot with no shade this makes getting around in the crowds a little more challenging.

Since childhood, I was fascinated with Pompei. The ruins would take a couple of days to completely absorb as the ruins are much larger than imagined from photos. The vistas were incredible. Every facet of the exploration brought new life to what was once a truly vibrant city.

I visited Pompeii in early October and whilst busy, I was reliably informed that it’s quiet compared to peak summer months. Definitely worth visiting and I’d recommend a guide if you can. So much to see and you should allow a good 3hrs+ to see the whole site. There’s a lot of walking to do and if you’re unsteady on your feet, that will limit some of the things you can see at the site. I’d also strongly recommend you take water with you. It’s hot work even in October. I also visited Herculaneum, which is much smaller but is in many ways, a better preserved site. You’ll see the second floor on many buildings. That said, you get a real feel for how big Pompeii was back in the day. Which is better? Pompeii for me based upon the sheer scale, variety of buildings and the wonder you get of how well developed the Romans were back in 79AD. I’d also say that the surroundings outside of the UNESCO World Heritage site are a whole lot better than Herculaneum.

We booked the hotel at very short notice, and it was very handy for the station and the entrance to the Pompeii ruins. The hotel/motel is just as it looks in the pictures, a little dated decor wise, but perfectly comfortable and pleasant to stay in. The pool looked very inviting, and the weather was still warm enough in October, but we didn't have our swimming costumes. It was a bit like going on another time travel, back to the 1960s/70s rather than all the way to 79AD.

The BnB was very well maintained. It is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in yet. You would have to go to a luxury hotel to find something better. The owner is very helpful and takes a lot of pride in the building and the area. He will give you great tips on where to go and how to get there. A must stay if you are planning on going to Pompeii or even Naples.

This is a lovely hotel with a haven for a garden. Our room was lovely and we liked that we had a small balcony. We ate dinner in the lemon garden on both nights we were there because the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was also excellent and served in a very welcoming dining room. If we ever return to Pompeii we would go back to the Hotel Forum.
