It is called the eternal city for a reason.

It is called the eternal city for a reason. Beautiful and easy to walk, Rome offers a magical experience just by being on its streets and taking in all the historical buildings and quaint little neighborhoods. However, in comparison with a previous visit, it has become overly touristy, full of tourist traps and overpriced and overcrowded experiences.

The Apartment:

The Apartment: Pros: Great location a block from the Trevi, rooms are huge and have great views from the windows, beds are really comfortable and made up well, kitchen is handy and has stove, frig, microwave, sink and storage. This is handy for a family with kids or who like to prepare light meals. Stores, bakeries, bars, restaurants are short walk from apartment. Staff was helpful upon arrival. Heating worked well as we were there in cold weather. Cons: Place needs a good paint job and cleaning, furniture is worn, several windows in bedroom and kitchen door don't close securely, they blow open. (Please note the front door locks securely.) Supplies not sufficient for group of 10: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 garbage bag, salt, sugar, paper towels lacking? This place was beautiful in it's day. It could be fabulous if a few things were cleaned up and updated.

The Eternal City! So much to see and do!

The Eternal City! So much to see and do! From the ancient sites of the Forum and Colosseum, to the basilicas and museums, it's all amazing. The passion of the "Romanisti" shines through as you sample the sights, and the FOOD! Amazing on every level! Getting around is super easy on the bus/tram/metro system. Don't miss the free museums on the first Sunday of every month!

Our First Visit Back After 13 Years: This was our first trip...

Our First Visit Back After 13 Years: This was our first trip back to Rome in thirteen years. The experience was both nostalgic and enlightening, allowing us to see how much the city—and our travel habits—have changed over time. Booking Tours in Advance : One important lesson we learned is the necessity of booking tours well ahead of time. Many popular attractions in Rome tend to fill up quickly, so securing reservations early is essential to avoid disappointment. Visiting the Vatican: For those planning a visit to the Vatican, I strongly recommend booking the earliest available time slot. Although we scheduled our visit for 9:00 AM, the area was already quite hectic, and an even earlier time might have offered a more relaxed experience.

The Colosseum was definitely the highlight of the trip. It’s absolutely breathtaking in person Rome is very walkable, which is the best way to see the city. For couples, I highly recommend exploring Trastevere at night for drinks and dinner

So many things to do and see in and around Rome you can't go...

So many things to do and see in and around Rome you can't go wrong with a short or long stay. I brought a family member here so emphasis was on the minimum: Saint Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum. One day was spent in Florence, to where we travelled by train. Strong suggestion is booking entrance and/or tours for the main sights. For the Vatican Museums booking a tour was an absolute win since you skip the long lines for access, and gain a far better understanding of the set-up and items on show.

The hotel experience was excellent overall. Amazing staff, very friendly. The location was ideal. The room was superb. Very clean, spacious and brand new furniture. I loved it so much that I will always come back when in Rome. I do consider this the best hotel I’ve stayed in Italy, and overall excellent value for money too. Thank you so much TB Place Roma, it was great to stay with you and looking forward to the next time.

This hotel was a surprise and probably the best of our stay in Italy. The entrance is through large double doors into an old building and then directed to 4th floor in an ancient (but efficient) lift. On entering the foyer it is modern, clean and such a surprise. The beds were extremely comfy and the bathroom was lovely. When we checked out very early we were given a breakfast box, a nice touch.

This hotel exceeded our expectations for Rome. We stayed in 12 hotels/farmstays over 4 weeks for our European trip (Holland, Italy, Paris) and this was one was the absolute best value. The bed was in the top 3, the room was very spacious for a major city hotel and the bathtub would have been amazing if it wasn't 36 degrees out. I was tempted to have an ice bath but I had no access to ice.

I had previously had the pleasure of residing at Hotel Quirinale when my organisation held a Global Industry Conference there, with several International delegates, and I therefore had the pleasant experience of its quality, therefore it was an ideal location for the Rome leg of our wonderful visit to Italy to attend the Monza Formula One Event.

Fantastic, friendly and polite front desk staff. If it weren't for them, the stay would have been miserable. The location is also great. The movie atmosphere of the hotel is quite ok but you lose the atmosphere of Italy and Rome with this.
