It is nice and relaxing to stay in the old town, as well as near the centre for the train station. You see both sides of the same town and the 2 languages of Italian and French (I speak both, so this is great). I think Ventimiglia is a hidden gem - very close to both Sanremo and Menton! Unfortunately, the large covered market was closed due to a fire. However, the Friday weekly market was impressive - must be more than 200 stalls! Ventimiglia is a traditional border town with beaches, an old quarter, a market, a new marina and usual choice of cafes and restaurants. Excellent location for visiting nearby Italian towns and french towns are easily reached using reliable trains. We liked that Ventimiglia is very close to popular places such as Monaco, Menton, SanRemo. Day trips very easy to do. Some areas of Ventimiglia were dodgy but overall people very friendly, prices reasonable and beaches not overcrowdedGuest review bymariya

It surpassed my expectations. It’s like you spend a night in a flat of your beloved Italian friends. The interior is full of history and unique pieces, in the morning you have a breakfast on a beautiful terrace. Also the town itself is incredible. Breakfast is tasty, bed clothes is super clean, bathroom is great. The guys who welcome you and make breakfast are very friendly.
