Perfect location! You can see the majestic Mount Fuji from the window. The mountain view in the morning mist is breathtaking. The room is clean and cozy, fully equipped. We ate big lunch at kura Sushi Fujinomiya, was good fun and orders delivered by conveyor although a struggle because of language even with our Tranlator app and some help from the ladies who speak no english. It was a nice quiet town with the most amazing UNESCO Heritage Centre, well worth a visit. Because we were there in off season June, the weather was overcast and cloudy and we were unable to see Mt Fuji, but we did get a glimpse of it for about half an hour or so! We didn't realize this is usually the case during these months and the chances of seeing Mt Fuji are quite rare. Had some of the best noodles in Japan there. We went for a walk in the evening through the town and there was no one about, it was bliss... A lot of the bars and restaurants close on a Monday. Private bus tours only run at weekends from 11am to 2pm not during the week, which we didn't know till we got there, but we used public transport and that was fine. Great team who advised me on onward train travel. The washing machine and dryer enabled me to clean my heavy duty climbing clothes and the team helped me dispatch these to the last hotel in my stay so I don't have to lug them around for 5 weeks. Hotel was very clean and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Nice selection of food to choose from at dinner and breakfast. The best bit for us was the view of Mount Fuji from our room and also whilst enjoying the onsen. It really was worth the extra journey on our 2 week break around Japan.
