Takai the owner was sooooo helpful, it made all the difference to my stay in Matsumoto. I loved the book he made describing the different restaurants and what their specialities were. So much love and hard work have gone into making this place special. Takai was patient and answered all of my questions and went out of his way to help me. I am very grateful for his kindness and consideration. Lots of eating and drinking places are only a few minutes away as is the castle. It's also only about 15 minutes walk from the station so even with a suitcase I could walk here.

The offer of toiletries to take to the onsen, bikes to cycle round the city and free washing facilities made it such an easy place to stay without hidden extra costs. The kitchen was well kitted out. Staff and other travellers very friendly.

Wonderful staff. Some beautiful customer service touches including an introductory free drink. The local food recommendation map lead us to one of the best meals we’ve yet had in Japan, and the location is amazingly close to the station and other great amenities. They also helped us very easily to sent our luggage onwards to Kanazawa via the Yamato courier service. 皆さん、本当にありがとうございました。

Close to bus and train station. Very comfortable beds, discounted vending machines for a quick morning coffee. And we even got a free late small dinner for guests (I assume because it was a monday, with many restaurants nearby closed)
