This hotel is an absolute gem, tucked away on a small connected island in the north of Okinawa. If you’re looking to completely unwind for a few days, surrounded by calm turquoise waters and hardly another soul in sight, this is the perfect spot. The hotel itself was modernised this year — stylish, spotless, and everything works beautifully. Our host, Taro, was exceptional from start to finish: warm, attentive, and always one step ahead, from arranging taxis to recommending brilliant local restaurants. Breakfasts were excellent too, especially the Western option — fresh, generous, and the perfect start to a lazy island morning. I honestly can’t recommend this hotel more — it’s one of those rare places that feels both special and completely effortless.

I only stayed in my hotel because it was raining but i definitely wish I stayed longer (I was only there for one full day— the other two I travelled to and from my hotel) but I really wish I booked a longer stay. It’s not as busy as Naha or other popular areas so for me it was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could have visited some local attractions such as the pineapple park but unfortunately it rained on the day I wanted to go and I didn’t really feel like doing that in the rain. But I’d recommend 2-3 full days here!

Nago has fantastic beaches.

Nago has fantastic beaches. Most of them not advertised enough. However the restaurants are small (at least where we were...at Yugaf Inn) and they dont seem to bother serving forighners. Some even have notes out on the door. Shocking And that is a big one. Plus nobody speaks english so that makes things hard.

we went in rainy season (late may) so not the smartest of us. however the one sunny day we had we went to the beach and how wonderful. the beauty of okinawa especially up north is unparalleled and when you get to experience it firsthand it is breathtaking. i wish we could have gone to yanbaru! I recommend a couple things: -dye workshop at BOTANICA (indigo and natural dye of natural fibres clothing shawl bag or something you bring) run by a family near the Nakijin castle (also great recommendation) -Biking along the coast (its not for the faint hearted but its so rewarding) -nago museum (great history and natural history emphasizing unity of nature and people and cultural history of pre japan ryuku kingdom -okinawa soba! satchan soba is great, get the pork rib or sanmainiku -captain kangaroo hamburger for GIANT JUICY BURGER -fishing port teishoku restaurant for tuna or mixed fish don -hanhanmoomani korean restaurant in central nago, sosososos good and most friendly staff! -inno coffee shop -nago municipal market (grocery store and a delicious sweets store beside it) -ryujin shrine(osehara ryujin on google maps): stray cats supported by people and organizations in nago, hermit crabs with a shell shrine, the most peaceful a mystical area -hubcycle okinawa (bike rental, contact them because they say closed wednesday but they are actually open )

The location in the middle of the island is excellent.

The location in the middle of the island is excellent. The capital, Naha, is terribly ugly, and we didn't see a single nice place. From Nago, you can easily reach all parts of the island. However, a rental car is absolutely essential if you don't just want to lie on the beach.

Long-established shops are very precious.

Long-established shops are very precious. There are many shops that I hope will continue to exist for a long time, such as the delicious Miyazato Soba, Yae Shokudo, Janbal Taco (where many locals line up for taco rice), and a candy shop that has been in business for over 60 years. There are also many tourist attractions nearby (Fruit Park, Orion Beer Factory, Kyoda Roadside Station, etc.), making it a convenient place to spend time. Also, when going to Janglia, instead of using the Janglia parking lot (which is paid), you can park at AEON Nago and easily get around by shuttle bus. The view from the Nago Castle Park Visitor Center is also great for work! You can work leisurely with just one drink. (Right next to the location in the Booking.com location photo)

The popular Churaumi Aquarium is also easily accessible, and just driving along the roads along the ocean side gives you a resort-like atmosphere. There are so many hidden cafes and restaurants. You can buy souvenirs at Kyoda Roadside Station, and they sell a variety of delicious sata andagi. There are also many other delicious things! I think it's a great place for families and friends to enjoy. By the way, tickets to the Churaumi Aquarium are available at a discount. Doing nothing and just staring at the ocean is a truly luxurious way to spend your time. Come and forget about your daily life and be healed.

I'm usually too lazy and I don't like writing hotel reviews, but in this case I give it 10 out of 10! Beautiful view from the window, great surroundings, wonderful nature, bikes available, great design.... I would give it 11 points out of 10 if the bikes were bigger :) The owners of this beautiful, intimate hotel were very nice and helpful. For people looking for the real Okinawa, Stay Hotel will be a great starting point.

Breakfast is buffet or japanese set menu (only 100 portions per day). Pretty noisy buffet hall but food etc fresh daily smoothies were good. A lot of restaurants near by and easy to walk there. We ate only once dinner at the hotel, pretty pricey buffet .. Good location with a car to do day trips. Onsen was great, a small fee guaranteed that is was peacefull. We did have 3 day ticket there = perfetion
