FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

The best city I visited in Japan!

The best city I visited in Japan! The nightlife, food, shopping, and people were all fabulous! If there's one place you don't want to miss, it's Osaka. Definitely try Shinsaibashi Shopping Street if you're into shopping. As for breakfast places, I highly recommend Maze Terrace Cafe (the BEST breakfast I've ever had) and Bread, Espresso, and Sakasuji Club for world-class service, decor, and pastries!

A beautiful and friendly city, modern, yet classical with charms of yesteryear and modernity. A beautiful playground that entertains you at every turn, Osaka basically spoils you and make yo addictive for more. The transport system is fantastic, whether you utilize the metro for local areas or the plentiful other trains lines to Nara or Kobe, it is so easy to use the system and extremely cheap.

I love temples and shrines, and was not disappointed.

I love temples and shrines, and was not disappointed. If you speak Japanese, the rakugo shows at the nearby theater were funny and very reasonably priced. A walk along the river at Nakanoshima park promises beautiful roses...and if you are a Geocacher, you will have plenty to do! Don't miss the covered shopping arcade at Tenjinbashi....so old-timey and and fun!

Osaka is a good base to use to visit the tourist (and other area) attractions such as Kyoto, Nara, Kobe with easy train trips. Osaka itself is big enough to have many attractions and activities and be small enough to navigate relatively easily. The food choice is fantastic and do some research to find what interests you I highly recommend this city and have spent weeks here

Osaka has a good subway system, which is easy to navigate, if your first time here maybe stay near Namba or adjacent areas as all the shopping, restautrants are close by, Osaka is mostly flat and a grid layout close in so walking around it is difficult to get lost. Going out to night clubs at night felt safe, never had any issues, at same time to be respectful to other commuter's and restaurant owners/staff. One of the traditional cafes had a couple of ninety year olds running cafe, some times their daughter were there to help sometimes not, so return used plates and cups to counter before leaving, sometime collect food from counter, so you read situation watch what others do, be polite. In most places you return trays and plates to counters before you leave. Look around you can find great value in restaurants for example 380 yen for Egg, toast, Blend coffee, water. Maybe with hotdog 680 yen

Osaka truly has something for every kind of traveler.

Osaka truly has something for every kind of traveler. If you're into fashion and shopping, you can head to Umeda, Namba, and Shinsaibashi. For those who love a retro Showa-era atmosphere, there’s Sennichimae, Tenjinbashisuji, and the Tsutenkaku area. History buffs can explore Osaka Castle and the Museum of History. And if you enjoy visiting shrines, Osaka and its suburbs are dotted with unique sanctuaries, each full of character and fascinating stories. As long as you approach them with a polite and respectful attitude, the locals are often happy to share their favorite hidden gems and stories.

Fantastic hotel right in the guts of Osaka. We just loved this location, near Dotonbori, but a little away (quiter). we also loved the street going towards Namba station Gashapon everywhere and an awesome neardy anime shop. Also, walking distance to Shinsekai. If you have kids, there's an awesome little playroom that my daughter loved going in and meeting other kids. The breakfast was good, we did end up eating there each morning because it was easy. Rooms are big

The location was not central, but very good with just 50 meters to one of the exits of the Daikokucho station and just one stop to Namba/Dotonbori. The room was probably a meter or two bigger than the other ones I stayed in in similar hotels in Japan, meaning you can open your suitcase on the floor. :) The staff was professional and nice. The onsen was decent, with a little outside space and a bigger one inside. The breakfast was very good!

Modern hotel, super comfortable rooms. Breakfast was really great, one of the best we had during our trip across Japan. While not in the center itself, Dotonbori / Namba is very easy to reach by metro or walking. Lots of options for food & drinks nearby, and a 7/11 across the street.

The hotel is decent. Location is very near Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi which we prefer when visiting Osaka. Our room was very spacious for a family of 3.
