Unlike the Miyako in Kyoto, this 208-room property is not associated with Westin/Marriott. The hotel is relatively new, around four years old when writing this. We picked the Miyako Hotel Hakata for its excellent location right adjacent to the Hakata train station. The reception is on the third floor. The staff is friendly and professional, and the rooms are excellent - very spacious and bright. Fully equipped with any amenities you might need and with fantastic beds and pillows. The lights, curtains and drapes are controlled by a tablet on a bedside table. The hotel features a lovely outdoor pool on the top floor amd also has a good restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We tried the ten course dinner and it was very good. When in Fukuoka we will pick the Miyako again. One of the top hotels we have stayed at during our many hotel nights in Japan. I requested rooms nearby despite booking 2 rooms of different style. The hotel is very kind to help arrange. I can see from details they do it with heart and treat guests with respect. They offer help effectively. Totally enjoy the lounge at 18th floor too! The snack and drinks are nice.

Everything. From the moment we arrived in front of hotel, until the moment we left the hotel back to airport. Sublime service. The very polite lady from the bell desk even continue waived us good byes accros the street! That was really touched our hearts. We have been around the world staying in top luxury resorts and hotels, but we never encountered such personal attention and care to their guests! Simply amazing service culture! We loved the Sumiyoshi area as it was relatively close to...

We loved the Sumiyoshi area as it was relatively close to Hakata Station (15 minutes) and all its shops and restaurants. Not far to Tenjuin by train and more shops and train connections. We really enjoyed the cherry blossoms around Fukuoka and the lovely range of spring flowers, especially the tulips and emerging azaleas

It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Hakata Station, but...

It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Hakata Station, but there is a 24-hour supermarket, a drugstore that is open late, and a convenience store nearby, making it a convenient base for your stay. I ate daifuku udon and Hakata motsunabe at Tokunagaya at the station. I enjoyed walking around Dazaifu by train. The exterior of the inn building is old, but the interior has been renovated and is very clean. Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth, as they could be done easily using a tablet. I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity.

It's located next to Canal City and Yatai, so the Nakasu...

It's located next to Canal City and Yatai, so the Nakasu River is close by and the location is good. It's convenient!! However, since it's self-check-in, you may need to know simple Japanese. Since Japanese law has changed, you have to pay a separate accommodation tax of 200 yen per person per night. I'm guessing you can pay with both cash and card. If you stay here, pay with card, but don't put it in the money box on the right! If you go through the steps with the pad, a payment window will appear using Google QR. It will say 99 days? If it's 2 people, 2 nights and 3 days..? You have to pay 2 people x 2 nights = 800 yen. Please note!
