It’s very convenient, close to Yamagata station, and has many bus stations within 5 mins walking distance. There’s a gym on the 3rd floor, and laundry room on the 8th floor. The staffs were extremely helpful. Special shout out to frond desk staff 石塚さん, she has been so patient and kind to us, thanks again!

There is free drink and ice cream from mid day till mid night, free beef soba noodle at 8pm for hotel guests. In house laundry (both wash and dry) facilities are available with good price. It's a bit of a walk to reach the center of Yamagata, but otherwise the location is nice. Staff was very friendly. The room wasn't exactly new, but was more than enough for a night, and the bathroom was excellent.

We stayed a tripple room. It was huge. The furniture is not fixed to the walls or floor so you can move it around as you need it. We moved all the beds together and slept as a family of four (one elementary school kid, we announced the number of guests beforehand and payed for the additional breakfast at check in) very comfortable in the three beds. An additional blanket was in the cupboard and each bedding consisted of two pillows anyhow, so no problem.

We stayed only 1 night here just to get to Ginzan Onsen. It was another typical Toyoko Inn, small but comfortable and clean. Again we could push the two beds in our twin room together and form a bed larger than a standard king sized bed. Breakfast was the typical Toyoko Inn fare - buffet style with rice, fried noodles, rice balls, salad, some cooked dishes like tamago, lotus roots, sausages (the same type at all the Toyoko Inns we stayed in), scrambled eggs, etc. We also had some grilled fish dishes like salmon and mackerel, which was quite yummy, as well as the ubiquitous natto. Everything was good and it was a good one night's stay.
