SANDERS & TANOI are The Most Perfect guesthouse owners ever !!! Don Som Riverside location is really breathtaking, and the bungalows face some of the most fascinating views to Mekong River !!! And the dinner was really delicious !!! The gave me the very best tips to continue my travel through Mekong River on my way to Laos !!! The location was great and perfect for a romantic escape. The host was wonderful, always helpful and ready to assist us with anything. The hotel restaurant was also good, with excellent options.

Perfect stay! Wish we could have stayed longer. The owner Andy is super helpful as are his staff. Great rooms, well worth the price. Daily house keeping and bottled water, string air-conditioning, great views from the room and unusually for SE Asia, extremely comfortable beds. A buffet breakfast, with omelette/ egg station is served everyday on the stunning terrace, with plenty of freshly ground Laos coffee, juices and fresh fruit. Watching the sunset on the bar terrace (I think also open to none hotel guests), was one of the highlights if our visit to Don Det, by far the best place to watch on the island with a bottle of Beer Lao. The location is perfect, walking distances to bars and restaurants. Launday service also available. Will definitely return!

This was the best stay I’ve had while traveling down through Laos from Luang Prabang. Totally recommend it to everyone! Alex and Leymon are super friendly. they even helped arrange a ride to Don Det and were quick to reply to messages before I arrived. Especially, Leymon’s Asian food was amazing, honestly as good as what I’ve had in the actual countries. Can’t wait to try it again! Between meals we played cards, chatted, and hung out with their dogs and cats—such a chill vibe. The room was clean and comfy, with a soft bed, towels, and shampoo. The shower has an open ceiling, so you might notice it when it rains, but it didn’t bother me at all. Loved the whole experience!

Best Guesthouse in Don Det. Beautiful house directly at the river front. Cute balconies with hammocks, seperated from each other with wodden gitters to not restrict the view. Super clean. Very friendly owner. She arranged both of our transfers and everything went perfectly. The location was perfect, 5 min walk to the city centre but quiet for the evenings.
